what does the little flower icon mean next to the slide to unlock button the front

i found the answer in another post. thank yoU! but i'm trying to find the 2 replies, and the most recent reply. i click on the link, but not going anywhere. help! newbie here.

i tried looking in the ipad2 ios5 guide, but couldn't find the answer or where it might be if it's in there! just not getting the right "search" terminology i'm afraid.
