Same problem, no clue how to solve it.

What computer do you use?

What version of iTunes?

macpro 10.7.2 snow...

ITunes 10.5 (141) latest...

And the solution in this time... I read,... put your Iphone in airplane mode, and make the update check with Itunes.

I tried this, and it's working... But I know this is only a stupid patch... but its working... This is a f..ng BUG.

My Iphone 4 is clear!, my iOS 5 is clear!, my macbook is clear !!

I really hope APPLE working on this problem.

I had the same #1635 problem (iTunes 10.5 and a iPhone 3gs with iOS5). This was 'solved' by putting the phone in airplane modus...

Yes indeed, when putting the phone in "Airplane Mode" the error was gone in iTunes.

The "airplane solution" is not unexpected: tens of millions of people are busy upgrading to iOS5, Itunes/iPhoto etc updates, 10.7.2 updates etc, everywhere the servers are overloaded. It will pass in a week or so. Still it shouldn't happen. in my areas the internet in general was extremely slow for days.

I hope they come up with something too! I had the same issue with my iPad 2 here in Brasil. I know cell carriers here SUCK BIG TIME, but i'm sort of glad to hear that someone else have the same issue.

Same problem here, iphone 4S, proximus, Belgium. Some authorization issue. But i don't have a solution (yet).

When updates dont work on MAC

YOU OPEN UP DATE AND TIME SETTINGS

CLICK SET DATE AND TIME AUTOMATICLLY .. THEN GO TO UPDATES.

could be the time change in EU.

try checking the time and date settings in Iphone, set automatically / switch on and then off...

see if it updates. it works for updates on mac.

here is the fix.

the problem is caused by the Carrier Logo package. The problem is that the carrier update doesn't recognize the altered carrier settings. The solution is to uninstall that package via Cydia, sync with itunes and apply the carrier update, then reinstall the package.
