cracking noise in iphone 4s earpiece

Had this problem as well as a buzz in my car when using the audio input. I really hope this isn't a hardware problem.

i'm on my second iphone4S 32gig now because of this and it does the exact same crackling noise as before... feel like a right donkey bringing all these phones back.. i norm never buy a new product on launch always wait a few months, why did i this time....

and if they do replace it with a brand new one like the store did with mine, would be good to check it there and then with a couple calls etc...

This just happened to me. I have been using speakerphone setting so far. First call where I held my phone up to my ear, crackling! I went crazy, because things like this do always happen to me. And now when I use the phone like that, I hear the crackling, and I can't unhear it! We don't have an Apple Store here in Adeladie, so I guess I'm going back to the callcentre.

i have also noticed that whist I am speaking the noise will go away on a call but as soon as I am silent i can hear it... weirds.... guess i need to talk more.

Have the same issue as well.

Sometimes it crackles, somtimes it doesnt.

Will eventually try and get a replacement, unless Apple can fix it in firmware.

This totally ***** I am getting crackling buzzing noise when I'm on a call. I had bought a brand new 4s through Verizon and I took it to the local apple store and they gave me a refurbished one which have me the same noise buzzing and crackling sound in the earpiece, so I went and got a THIRD refurbished iPhone 4s. I wish this could get fixed soon this totally *****. Ive had Verizon wireless service for YEARS and have never had a problem but now that I have the new iPhone 4s I'm totally getting g crackling buzzing connection sounds. Should I go in and get phone number 4????? I wish this could get fixed :(

Mitch they all have it I'm afraid.I've had two brand new ones.. it does suck.. and what also ***** is the rattle from the camera... it's such a beautiful piece of kit but the flaws it has are really annoying..

I have the same problem when talking with earpiece.

Yeah, I get an annoying acho in the earpiece.

Please complain to Apple, either in store or by phone, to make them aware of this issue.

I have the same, very annoying crackling and noise when making a call. It happens with and without using the earpiece! This is already the third issue I am having with this phone. I will certainly give them a call.

I have a cracking noise, too. It appears while talking with and without the headset. If I switch off mobile data the cracking noise disappears. So it seems to be a problem with the 3G-chip.

I'm using Telekom in Germany.
