i JUST got my iphone 4s yesterday and today while on two different phone calls i heard a faint crackling noise in my earpiece. i didn't have this problem with my 3gs so i don't think it's an at&t problem. anyone else heard of this issue?

I just got a refurbished iPhone 4 and I'm having th same issue. Upsetting, just started. Taking it back Thursday! Dang it!
I purchased an I-phone 4S recently and I noticed the crackling too in my earpiece. I contacted Verizon and was told to bring it in. They replaced the phone and I am still hearing the crack.ing noise. It must be a defect in the ear-speaker part of the phone, as it's not there when using a blue tooth headset

I am another victim. Surprising why apple is not doing anything. What is laughable is that apple cannot make a basic phone feature to work properly. My phone is only 3 months old and buzzing.
I have the same problem with my Iphone 4S, except it's more of an extremely annoying clicking noise while on calls. Been doing it since I got it about 3 1/2 months ago. AT&T says it's a hardware problem with the phone & to talk to Apple. Apple says it's a problem with AT&T's network. Both say they have never heard of this problem , though there are similar complaints all over the internet when you do a search. I haven't found any resolution advice anywhere so far.
