Hello everyone
I've been facing a SMS ringtone problem since ios5. When i recieve a SMS or imessage, it rings sequential twice or even more. (Just like when you recieve two sms at the same time)
If I restart my iphone, this problem disappears for sometime. It comes a while after, though.
Is it a bug or something? It's really annoying.

No I didn't restore my device and I won't do it.
I guess it's something about an application which is running background. Once you start it, it causes this problem. Even if you close it, problem continues till restart. This is only a prediction, though.
I hope this problem won't damage my device. Because this problem makes the vibration system run unsteady. Additionaly, if you're listening to music when message's recieved, it makes the tune up and down wayward.
If you restore your device please let me know the result.

Dude this problem is not simple as it seems. I've already tried to change my ringtone to solve this problem. It didn't help at all.
changing d ringtones doesnt help....its seriously irritating nd that too happening wid one of the best phones in the world.....newayz apple did say there are lots of bugs in iOS 5...may be this is one of them.....in response to that they, we will be having another updat after few weeks.....hopefully this bug would be fixed.....:)........but still this **** is annoying....ðŸ˜
Solved.
I've restored my iphone and set it up as a new iphone. I haven't been facing this problem since restore. Do not forget to restore it "as a new iphone". Do not backup from old.
Some tips for "restoring as a new iphone"
-iCloud would be helpful while getting your apps.
-Saving your camera roll photos to the pc then mailing them and saving them back in iphone can make your photo album as the same before.
-There are some free apps that can help you to back your contacts up.
-Change your iPhone name after restore. Otherwise iTunes may automatically backup from old.

I noticed that too, but if I put it on Silence, the vibrate will vibrate on it's own out of no where even though I did not get a SMS. I thought it was a ghost in the phone lol
i restored my device too...but it was of no use after a couple of days the problem started again....
if the problem is taking place even on iphone 4S then i guess there is a bug on iOS5....and moreover iOS 5 does hav lots of bugs...people are complaining of different problem on thier iphone after upgrading to iOS 5.....

I had the same problem. After reading this thread I saw no one tried restarting the iPhone itself. So, I did and it worked. I got my ringtone back. Now I will see if it sticks! But, I suggest trying it yourself.
