Can I just point out the irony of this post that slams Apple for being arrogant yet suggests that 254 posts on here, equating to maybe 210 actual users after removing double posts, only a handful of which still are experiencing issues, should be able to direct the activities of the programming arm of a major multi-national company with hundreds of millions of customers worldwide experiencing no issues whatsoever?!!!
Can you imagine a Microsoft product launch/update with only 210 adversely-impacted users!?!?!?
Apple have improved the bluetooth offering in their equipment. Apple are not responsible for other equipment manufacturer's equipment, or the other manufacturer's decision to not bother keeping pace with technological advancements. Bluetooth communication has established protocols and standards as does every single other method of data transfer in the modern age. Updating and revising equipment to use new standards is something that happens - look at wifi 802.11a/b/g/n. Look at TV RF/SCART/Component/HDMI.
Apple work with STANDARDS. They do not go out and buy every variation of car provided in every global market and test it on each one - we would still be waiting for the iPhone 3G if this was how product development worked.
You don't buy a Blu-Ray player then go onto Sony's boards and call them arrogant for ignoring your own personal odd need by not providing an RF out port to connect to your ancient CRT TV - nor do you threaten to contact the national press about the CRT TV you paid £thousands for in 1989 not having been updated to accept an HDMI input.
Apple are CLEARLY ahead of the game and have CLEARLY given Ford plenty of notice as Ford had already put out the update before iOS5 came along. The solution was already in place long before most people on here even started moaning about a problem. Communication of the update could have been better from Ford but I say kudos to Ford and Apple for organising it.
