iOS 5 Bluetooth ford problem

I have a 2011 (UK 11 reg) Ford Mondeo with built in Sony radio with sat nav, Bluetooth and CD. It has been linking fine to my iPhone 4 via Bluetooth both for phone calls and audio as needed running iOS 4. However since upgrading to iOS 5 it won't keeps saying it can't establish data connection, audio breaks up then the phone disconnects intermittently, and the radio no longer displays my phone signal strength which I relied up to know I had a signal.

This is a major pain as I need it to be reliable as it was until recently for work support phone calls. Can anyone please advise how to resolve this? Please don't say take it to my Ford dealer, 1) they will likely have no clue 2) why the **** should I when it's Apple's upgrade which has caused the problem - it was fine before I installed iOS 5.

I too have had the problems with Bluetooth after upgrade to IOS5. I've used the patch issued by Ford and that seems to have solved most of the problems. I'm now finding that I need to repair my phone every time I go in the car. Whilst this isn't a major problem compared with the other issues, it's still annoying to have to go through about three menus to get to the pairing command (Settings- General-Bluetooth-Ford Audio). Is there an app that can do this without having to go through the menus? Can't find one.....

There's nothing in iOS 5.0.1 that makes any difference to my Renault Megane, I'm sorry to say. Same issues - four or five second delay selecting the next or previous track, eight second delay when trying to un-pause a track. Virtually un-usable.

So, this update has caused problems with vehicles from Ford, Renault, Audi, Lexus, Mazda and Porsche. And that's the ones we know about. Pretty poor update, I'd say.

From Belgium,

Same problem here with my Iphone 4S.

Problems with pairing the phone, connectivity continously drops...

FYI update 5.0.1 would only resolve some battery issues.

@ Apple,

When do you think this would be resolved.

And first of all, please give your customers feedback! Even if it's only to tell us that you're working on it / that you'll look into it. At least then we know you're on it!

Here's a question. To those that have performed the update are you able to get the Line In to output audio still? Previously if I opened the iPod application I had a choice between "Ford Audio" or "Dock Connector". If I selected Dock connector the USB menu in the car would play audio and the Line In would output audio from whatever application was running on the handset. This was perfect for when I was using TomTom and didn't want music in the background.

Now that the options gone the only way I've noticed so far to get application like Tom Tom to output via the car speaker without my music also playing is to disconnect the USB, which in turn prevents me jumping straight into MP3 playback if I wish.

Wondering if anyone had any suggestions regarding that?

I was hoping that iOS 5.0.1 update would fix the bluetooth problems but no luck there.

I've got a 59 plate Renault Megane Coupe and contacted Renault two weeks ago about the problem. At the time they were completely unaware of the issue and said they'd get back to me with a solution. They rang last Thursday to say that they have now received lots of enqueries about the problem and that they could install a Parrot bluetooth system as a quick fix. I declined as I don't want things stuck to the dashboard and looking ugly. I want my proper integrated bluetooth back.

They are now bringing the issue up at their next technical meeting apparently ... so I wouldn't hold your breath for a fix any time soon Reanualy owners.

I Think that the feedback page is only a black hole. Note how fast the response page came out after pressing the submit button. Hmm, I guess that every feedback is ditched or lost into the VOID.

Anyway I have just updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0.1 and the problem with Bluethooth is still present. I was so naive to think that this release would have fixed this issue 😟😟😟.

Please roll out the 5.0.2 soon.

Hi,

I have the same problem with my Ford Mondeo SW 2010 (and the same Audio MP3 Bluetooth system as you have) and yesterday I brought it to my Ford garage to explain the problem.

This morning I got my car back an in spite of the Audio system update/reprogramming I still have the same issue.

This means that Sony/Ford doesn't have any update of their sytem to fix it and make it working with iOS 5.

We just have to wait Apple to fix this problem with an iOS update... 😟

I also executed the upgrade of the Bluetooth connectivity via the procedure proposed by Ford.

And the result is better than the situation before the change of IOs (4.3.2) and (5.0.1) on the IPhone, now I am able to see the song titles and artists name as well as the cd title.

Connectivity is stable even when switching between phone and audio functionality.

Also navigation between songs is again as flexible as before the Ios5 installation.

Great news thanks for the tip jimmyfromlierde
