iCloud, Mail.app, and Snow Leopard

Hi-

I recently moved my MobileMe account to iCloud. So far, so good. Now, I would like to be able to use Mail.app on my Mac Mini running Snow Leopard with my "new" iCloud account. Is this possible? I've read several internet posts about doing this, but when I enter the suggested settings, Mail.app keeps telling me that password is incorrect. This however, is not correct, because I can log into iCloud on the web without any problems and sending/receiving mail on my iPhone works just fine.

So, if anyone out there knows what settins I need to enter into Mail.app, and can pass them along, that would be great. Also, do I need to delete some old Mail.app preferences from my Mini? If so, where might I find these files?

Thanks!

Mac Mini, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Verizon iPhone 4

The issue is that the Mail app assumes that a me.com address is a MobileMe account. The new iCloud me.com accounts use standard IMAP/SMTP protocols. When it gives you a Password Incorrect message, just click on Continue and it will bring you to the Incoming Server dialog.

Select IMAP from the pulldown menu (default is MobileMe) and use "imap.mail.me.com" as the server. Click Continue to go to the Outgoing Server dialog. Select SMTP from the pulldown menu and use "smtp.mail.me.com" as the server. Click Continue. Select Take Account Online, click Create and you're all set!
