Just installed IOS5. My contacts screen no longer has a plus or edit key. How can I get them back?

How can I get the plus and edit Keyes back on the contacts screen?

Nope that didn't work.

Here is the history of this: this iPad is my mother in law's. I did the initial sync through my Mac because she does not own a computer. No contacts or music or any other items were synced.

Contacts were added to the iPad by mailing the contacts to her and adding them one at a time.

Everything worked fine until iOS 5, now I don't know how to add contacts or even delete the contacts.

Just installed IOS5. My contacts screen no longer has a plus or edit key. How can I get them back?
