I need an iWeb alternative

So since iweb and mobile me are being discontinued I need a new alternative. Does anyone know a website builder that works like iweb? With the same building style. Also is it possibe to transfer my iweb file to the new website builder so I don't have to start over. I have put a lot of time and hard work into my website and I don't want to try to remake it. I have a godaddy domain so would I use godaddy to publish my site? Or is there something better?

My site is: http://www.josephtubb.com

Thanks

Well I'm still looking for an Alternative but what I have done so far is I stoping useing Mobile Me and I now have GoDaddy hosting my site. The Negitives to this is that the "Blog" and "Photo" feature that iWeb09 has won't work and your site won't even publish if you have these pages in the site. Besides that it is working pretty well, no problems yet but I really wish Apple would use the iCloud to host iWeb Sites and I wish that Apple may even relaunch the iWeb software.

I don't know, but is there way to do like a poll or a signing of names to maybe convience apple to relaunch iWeb? I would pay for the application because its that awesome. What do you guys think??

Give Flux a try. You can get a demo version here: The Escapers - Flux. It's not as easy as iWeb but is quite good. Be sure to view the video tutorials to get a handle on how to start. There are also some very good video tutorials on YouTube. If you like it it's on sale here for about 4 more days: Mac Software Bundle | Apple Software Download | Mac SuperBundle.

I could skip the "album page" with it's little stack of pictures foreplay

your have three albums in your albums page, which one would you like to jump to?

Wowslider

there is no need to do any manual work for slideshow, iweb has its own slideshow.

see my post here for building slideshow with iweb photos page:

example and code had been moved here:

Can I control the length of time each "slide" is displayed

i just made a small change in my code.

go to my code page and copy the code and look for slideShowPhotoDuration, you can change the display duration there.

and how quickly the "fade" comes in and out?

the transition effect is fixed at half second, so not really; not without dig into apple's

SimpleAnimation code.

And can I get rid of the row of thumbnails along the top and simply have a row of dots or even nothing?

I just want to add my vote to hosting at GoDaddy. I chose GoDaddy because I have my domain name through them. I was worried that it was going to be complicated to transfer my website from MobileMe but it wasn't at all.

All you have to do is change a few of the "site publishing settings" in iWeb, click "publish" and your site will go to GoDaddy instead of MobileMe. The techs at GoDaddy will talk you through it.

GoDaddy charges about $50 a year to host (I think I was paying $99 a year for MobileMe), and has 24/7 tech support included. You can cancel anytime and get unused months refunded.

As long as iWeb continues to work, this is a simple and painless solution. When Apple no longer supports iWeb, which is probably inevitable, then I will have to figure out how to build a new website.

Finally getting back to working on this. One more question - When I'm composing the "slideshow" the images do not appear in the album unless I randomly place the cursor over them and click. I'd like to be able to arrange the sequence of the show a little more easily. I seem to remember an opacity setting, but for the life of me I can't find it now.

Many thanks.
