iOS5 - Text tones & vibrate not working

i have iphone 4 with iOS5 i already tried to make factory restore, change language (to respring), nothing helped, some time vibration working some times no, some time it only vibrates once, tried to create custom vibration, while creating (vibration dont not work), when creation is done, tried to play custom vibration, same bad result. My phone is almoust new, so i didnt had any issues with vibration before ios5, any one know where to create problem ticket directly to apple support? if some one know please post a link

+1 to this problem... interestingly with R2D2 Happy as well...

Had the same problem, and thought about it like a computer, because that is what it is. Turned it off, had it boot up, and bingo! Problem solved!!! Might want to try that before resetting setting :)

Unfortunately that isn't working for most of the rest of us... I've turned off & on, rebooted, double-rebooted, no change. Apple Support are utterly useless - they actually said "we've tried everything" and closed my ticket!

WHY DON'T WE HAVE A RESPONSE FROM APPLE yet?!!

This is unacceptable, it's been two weeks. I paid for a tone and it needs to work.

Over the weekend, I will have a go at extending the message alert tones - did this work for anyone else?

its still a pain for me :S...Not to mention that my particular iPhone is a total mess...the home button doesnt work either as it should... I cant wait to be off contract so I can get something else.

I've tried raising another ticket about the problem as well...

have you tryed going into a apple store?

Problem began when it was out of warranty and I am not an extended plan person...secondly, its about a 3 hour drive to the nearest store to me so no I havent....I'll probably get a new one when I can because I'm a believer!

hi, that is annoying that its 3 hours away, if you could of gone to them they would of been able to tell you just what is wrong with the phone, it could of even been that it needs a clean inside (they would of done that free of chage) and been able to give you options on to what to do next. but sounds to me like a hardware problem, so sounds like for you it would be best to just wait a bit, sorry.

I actually managed to fix the problem eventually. The only thing that worked for me was removing the message tone from the iPhone (but leaving it in iTunes), then doing a full backup and restore of the iPhone (this can take a long time if you have a lot of content), and then re-adding the message tone to the handset through iTunes again.

Apple Support was utterly useless, I have to say - pretty disappointing given the premium price of the product. Just the same form-letter responses over and over again by support workers clearly following scripts, and no way to escalate issues.

I as well have several purchased text tones not working and after spending many frustrating hours trying to fix this I am nearly rady to smash my phone to smithereens. Is this going to be an ongoing problem everytime Apple update the software? Just let us use the bloody text tones we payed for!

I had this problem a lot before iOS 5.1, and thought iOS 5.1 fixed it because it didn't happen for a long time, until just recently. I'll notice that i haven't felt any text vibrations (or sound notifications for texts or other push notifcations), and when I switch the rocker switch to silent, my phone does not vibrate like it should.

I did find a quick workaround, though its not permanent: Go to Settings->Sounds->Vibration Patterns (Vibrations) then click one of the vibration patterns. The vibrate should work for that. After that, both my notification vibrations and sounds work again for a while. The problem does come back after a while, sometimes quickly sometimes after a while. So, not a permanent fix, but it's nice to be able to fix the problem temporarily.
