Problem with bluetooth since OS 5 Upgrade

Every since the OS 05 Iphone upgrade when I connect to my car bluetooth stereo there is no way to control the bluetooth volume. The side keys simply refuse to work, and the normal volume for the speakers don't work either. This is strictly an iPhone issue as I've used other devices on my car bluetooth stereo. Any ideas or thoughts?

I have an iPhone 4 running 5.0.1

It works ok with the Jambox. My issue is on my Audi A6. It used to work fine but now it will lose connectivity. I can make calls with the directory, but if I want to receive a call, I need to pick it up from the phone. It will then drop the connection and then restore it back to the car's BT seconds later. I have tried re-pairing and that didn't resolve the issue.

I just purchase the iPhone 4 with os5 recently and it will only connect with my new Ford Fusion Sync system for a short time before it no longer recognizes the device. This is also a very big problem for me as well, I'm thinking of going back to my old LG which always worked on everything! BYT...re-pairing didn't work for me either! Anyone have any ideas?

I fixed mine. After hours of struggle!!!

I turned off Siri from settings. I deleted bluetooth pairing with my car ("forget this device"). I re-established bluetooth connection. I turned Siri back on. All fine (so far).

If this works for the rest of you kindly pass it along to one or two of the other 1000 posts on this issue. People are very frustrated right now. This one is not obvious.

Let us know if it works for you.

I bought the iPhone 4S and it won't connect with my Macbook Pro (mid 2010). My phone says it doesn't support mbp and my mbp says it doesn't have any connection with my phone, 'cause it's out of reach etc. But that's not it. Even if my phone is next to my mbp, bluetooth just won't connect.

So is this bug on iOS 5? And 5.0.1? Please Apple, fix this! Soon!

I have a 2009 Fusion and 4S running on 5.0.1. My issue was twofold.

1) I had to manually go into the phone's bluetooth settings and connect to Sync

2) I had to tell Sync to connect to phone/bluetooth audio everytime (through voice command)

I tried your fix and it worked perfectly. Now when I turn on the car, Sync automatically picks up the phone and my phone automatically connects, and whatever was playing before (whether it was Pandora, a podcast, music, etc.) autoplays through Sync. Thank you!

Erwin, I am having the same problem with the MMI system in my Audi A6 after upgrading to iOS 5. The call starts on Bluetooth, continues for a minute or so, and usually looses the audio connection. If left unaddressed and the caller does not hang up, the audio connection often will re-establish itself. It is a maddening bug in iOS 5. Please resolve, Apple!

I upgraded to iOS5 and found that my phone could no longer bluetooth with my 2010 Audi. I hope that everyone tried this first, but I did something that I rarely do - I powered off the iphone and then restarted it, assuming that the "reboot" may solve the problem. It seems to have worked, as the next time I was in the car the bluetooth connection worked, with phonebook upload, etc.

You may all be interested to know..just in case you had not seen. This problem is not only affecting Iphones but also Blackberries-and i did see something about Nokias and Audis as well.

I do a lot of business installs and many people ask me why their Audi/VW keeps forgetting their phone pairing or they lose connectivity during a call. I think the issue is with the Audi needing an upgrade..good luck with that as the stories I have heard about blank looks and misinformation(trying to upgrade the sat nav system!) tell me that your local VAG dealer may be a bit blind on the matter. I have not heard of people having similar problems with other car brands(which is not a scientific statement) so not sure that it is a general connectivity problem and may only be related to the one Audi(o) system..Vork Sprung Technic indeed!!!
