iPhone stuck at spinning wheel state after remote wipe

I've left my iPhone 3GS on a bus yesterday and remote wiped it.

Since then I've recovered the iPhone, but it's stuck at the spinning wheel state. The iPhone did not even reboot into the Apple logo for me to initiate a re-sync to the iTune.

Appreciate any help in recovering the phone to a working state.

Thank you.

Hi.

I don't know if it will work for everyone...

Remote wiped my iphone 5 to see if it would work. I was bored.

Unfortunately, it got stuck on the swirling white circle screen, for hours on end.

I could restart the iphone, it would work for 30 seconds exactly, before restarting automatically into the white circle spinning screen.

Tried every solution commonly posted including restoring from backup, but kept getting error messages in iTunes including "not eligible for restore" and error 21. Tried everything to overcome that including fixing "host" file in etc/private/, reinstalling iTunes, trying different computers, taking out other USB devices, restarting the computer, removing/inserting different sim, turning off wifi connectivity etc etc. Nothing worked.

The only thing that ended up working was:

1. Hold home/power buttons until iPhone resets

2. AS SOON as iphone lock screen loads, unlock

3. Go to settings

4. Go to iCloud

5. Scroll down to the bottom of that screen and select "Delete Account"

The phone will probably restart automatically at that stage.

Then, business as usual. You just can't use the iCloud account that was used to 'remote wipe' the phone. So you may lose contacts, calendars, but all apps and music is still there.
