create event in iCloud calendar receives error 507

Until about two weeks ago, calendars from Ipad (1), Iphone 4 and Ical (mb air) were just syncing fine. I was working in the beta test environment (IOS and OSX).

Now my IOS systems are on the goldmaster edition and OSX on 10.7.2. This 507 error showed at first when adding events to Ical. I don't get any error on iphone or ipad but nothing is syncing anymore to iCloud.

The Ical message: The request for account "iCloud" failed. The server responded with "507" to operation CalDAVMigratetoServerQueueableOperation.

The message includes two buttons: 'stay offline' and 'go online'.

Next I tried creating an event from Icloud.com itself and there in the detail report I again see this 507 error talking about an undefined error. The report has been sent to apple. But thought it would be wise reporting it here and see whether others are examining the same problem or perhaps solved the problem, although it looks more like an icloud bug.

Hi Ascanio

I don't understand. The calendars that are on icloud are the same calendars in iCal. If you didn't sign off, you should use the dupe deleter. If you have that many entries, I would leave the deleter on over night and see if it finishes in the morning. That is if by looping you mean, it never finishes.

If in the morning it has cleared up the duplication, then I would export the cleaned up calendars to the desktop. Sign off and then import the cleaned ones.

Let me know what happens...

If I don't sign off, I can run the dupe deleter on the icloud calendars and it does find the dupes, it tells me that it had deleted them... but then I find them as nothing has happened. Normally it takes a few mins. The dupe deleter is not a problem.

I guess the dupe deleter has to run on the local files, though, since it doesn't delete the dupes on the calendars while I am connected to iCloud.

Therefore, I copied the .ics files on my Mac, signed off iCloud and imported them in iCal. HERE is where iCal loops (rainbow wheel for ages...).

I guess, as I said, that is because iCal doesn't put up with all the dupes in the .ics file.

Although, I can't run the dupe deleter if I don't import the calendars first into iCal.... therefore I am stuck.

I hope you understood now 🙂

Did you let the rainbow wheel run over night? On the dupe deleter you should see a strip with either a solid or wavy line. If that is going, and the wheel is spinning it still should be deleting all your dupes. You should forget about iCloud for the moment and sign off. You should just concentrate on straightening out your local ical calendars first by getting rid of the dupes. Once you sign on to iCloud again, it just duplicates your calendars. So, if they are not set, it screws everything up again.

The rainbow wheel doesn't always mean that the computer or app is frozen. It can mean that it is just taking a long time for it to run. Let the dupe deleter run over night on your local calendars while being signed off from icloud. I can't guarantee that that will work but I think it's worth a try.

No, when you click sign out, it will give you a choice of what you want to keep or delete. But you don't have a choice with your calendar. iCal will be deleted from your computer. So you should export it (ical the ics file) to your desktop before you sign out, just to make sure you have a copy.

When you do sign out, take your time because you want to make sure that you keep everything else. It will give you a window for each thing that can be kept or deleted.

Well I have spent hours, days, weeks on try to sort out this 507 error with respect to Calendars.

The issue started for me in 10.7.3 (I think)

I am now on 10.8 and still had the issue.

My Calendars didn't seem to have hardly any data in them. I tried all variations on the themes outlined in this thread - none could be replicated in exactly the manner described as I am trying to do it on 10.8 and it's all different.

I got rid of my On My Mac calendars some time ago as I had no use for them.

To cut a long story short the error seems to be related to number of entries/amount of data - see the link. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4489?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

I have now cleared out some of the data manually by deleting events - in some cases it asked me if I wanted to delete future events on items I did not know had future events. I deleted them and hey presto everything works again.

Syncing everywhere Mac Book Pro, iMac, iPad and iPhone - just like it should be.

Yes, apparently the problem was the same for me... lots of "dummy" entries on January 1st, 1970... (you can only see them if you type "dummy" in the search bar...

I managed to remove a few by hand, and this resolved the syncing issue...

Problem is, removing by hand is extremely slow and makes iCal crash... (I found I could only remove 5-6 at once). Other problem is that they seem to continuously appear ! please do something Apple !

I'm not familiar with Perl, does anybody have another Idea on how to remove all these events at once ? or MoSH_ can you explain the script you used in pearl ?

Thanks !
