My iPhone 4S Bluetooth will not connect with either my iPad1, MacBook Pro or Automobile BT. Suspect a stack issue in new BT 4.0 (BTLE) release. Has any one discovered fix to this. I have tried this with two separate 4S phones and have same problem..

One further clarification. I am most concerned with connecting with BT in automobile. I can use WiFi to tether to my other devices. I cannot change the car very easily! My iPhone 3G had no connection issues.

I read you have to turn off Siri and Location on iphone 1st before connecting to Bluetooth but I do not have Siri on my iphone 4. I just turned off Location and connected to "Personal Hot Spot" then connected using Bluetooth and it works.

It seems Apple has changed the steps to do this. You have to turn on "Personal Hot Spot" on your iphone 1st THEN you are allowed to connect computers or ipads using Bluetooth and/or using your iphone's service provider internet network. Works Great for emergencies when our cable connection is down due to bad weather, surprising my verizion connection is fast using as a Hot Spot on my computers. I don't know if this way will work for file transfers, seems like it should. I just use Bluetooth to answer my iphone and make calls directly from my imac plus it shows the caller id information, I got that to work but now I am trying to figure out how to fax using this bluetooth setup (iphone as modem) and the imac built in fax software. supposedly it is possible with the right configuration.

My IPhone won't connect with anything via Bluetooth. Not my MacBook, not my iPad, not the car stereo. Tried all the tips in this thread, but nada. Other devices can find the iPhone, but the iPhone says NO! It's either constantly searching, or when it DOES find something and I try to pair the two, it just says connection failed. I really wanted to use it in the car to receive calls and the like, but nothing. Just have to carry on fiddling around sticking earphones in every time I guess. Modern technology....

After updating my IPhone 4s to OS 6.1.3, I found that my IPhone would no longer pair with my Mazda 3 2010 blue tooth. I tried anything and everything imaginable including all the suggestions on this forum. I spent many hours trying to troubleshoot this issue, not to mention time I spent with an Apple Care tech support person, who had be restore my IPhone to factory default. It only fixed the issue so that my IPhone could pair with my Jawbone bluetooth headset, but it would still not pair with my car's blue tooth. Here is what finally worked. I reset the bluetooth configuration in my vehicle. Basically, throught the voice prompts I instructed the vehicle blue tooth to delete any/all devices it had stored including my previous IPhone setup. Once I did this, the vehicle's blue tooth was discovered in my Iphone's blue tooth set up, pairing was successful, and FINALLY, I can now use my iphone through the vehicle's bluetooth and songs stored on my Iphone are also playing without issues. I just posted this to save others who are experiecing the same frustration. If I had tried this from the start, it would likely have saved me hours of frustration and aggravation. Give it a shot first before you try anything else, it may save you from all the frustration I went through. Best regards.

I ended up purchasing a VISEO-0 for my Mercedes-Benz (Google it – it cost me AUD$350!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Problem solved. Apple are a bunch of "you-know-whats" because every time they bring out a new model, they deliberately change connectors, Bluetooth versions, etc, etc, etc just to get you back into the market sooner. Hope this helps everybody

Hi Cheryl,

I ended up purchasing a ViseeO MB-4 for my Mercedes-Benz (Google it – it cost me AUD$350!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Problem solved. I din't know what vehicle you have, so it may or may not be relevant. As for ther iPad or MacBook Pro, I use the Personal Hotspot as a modem, otherwise I connect via WiFi (password in Settings under Personal Hotspot). Apple are a bunch of b@stards – every time they bring out a new model, they deliberately change connectors, Bluetooth versions, etc, etc, etc just to get you back into the market sooner. Having said that, they're still superior to their Android equivalents, althjough for how long...who knows? I hope this was helpful for you.
