My iPhone 4S Bluetooth will not connect with either my iPad1, MacBook Pro or Automobile BT. Suspect a stack issue in new BT 4.0 (BTLE) release. Has any one discovered fix to this. I have tried this with two separate 4S phones and have same problem..

One further clarification. I am most concerned with connecting with BT in automobile. I can use WiFi to tether to my other devices. I cannot change the car very easily! My iPhone 3G had no connection issues.

iPhone 4, iOS 5, iPhone 4S BT 4.0

My 4s won't pair with my '09 Toyota Prius, BodyMediaFit armband, or my Jabra Easygo earpiece. Only problem I had with my iPhone 3G was unable to sync Contact List with the car - had to manually enter #'s to the car's quickdial list - otherwise it paired with all 3 perfectly but all the recent iOS 'upgrades' + lack of support had slowed it so much that I finally bit the bullet & re-upped for 2 yrs for the 4S - shoulda waited ;(

I just formatted my phone and now it connects with no problems. So its definitely the phone. I had 70 plus apps and 1000 plus songs on it. I've owned every iPhone released save the 3GS and the 4. I have some of the original apps and they work great on the 4S. I also turned off wifi syncing but I don't think that would have anything to do with our issues. I will now try to put back some apps and music and see if the problem returns. I will update what I find.

Had an iPhone 4 connected to my smart fortwo Original Navigation system for 3 months. Got the iPhone 4S yesterday and....YES, no conection. Doesnt find the BT of the car, not my Mac Pro, nothing. It´s like a totally different Bluetooth platform. This is really boring. Probably a Bug. Hope Apple solve this situation on next update.

CONTINUATION of iPhone 4s not pairing with my 2010 GTI.

SOLUTION:

This worked for me thanks to a Genius at apple.

1) SYNC your iPhone (4s) to your computer.

2) Restore your iPhone (to it's original condition).

3) Now pair your iPhone 4s to your GTI.

If it pairs then load your music, apps, etc. 'fresh' ... do not load from a backup.

My iPhone 4s now pairs with my 2010 GTI, finally.

Good Luck

I have just tried this solution to no avail, I think it's the software.
My old 3gs would pair with my car without a problem before updating the software, I gave that phone to my daughter as I bought the new 4S. The 4S has never connected to anything and as soon as my daughter updated the software on my old 3gs that now wont pair now either. I can only think it's the software?

Hi there - I also have a 2010 Honda CRV with installed bluetooth. On Friday, I picked up the new iphone 4S and it wouldn't pair to the CRV even though I had divorced it from my old phone (a RAZR). After trying unsuccesfully to pair it on Friday (it just kept spinning and reading "now discoverable"), I called the dealership where I got my honda on Saturday. They put me in touch with an affiliated company who does all the installations of the bluetooth. The person I spoke with told me to do a complete reset on the unit (mine is an Advent), which basically means holding down the hangup button on the dash until you hear a strange sound (it's unmistakable). I did that and then tried pairing my iphone 4s again. This time, it found it without a hitch. (Oh, it did ask for a passcode, so I just entered 1234 and it worked.) Had that not worked, the person I spoke with told me that I could also come in and get the software module on the bluetooth updated (he wasn't going to charge me for this). Luckily, the first method worked for me. Give it a whirl, and if not, call a Honda dealership and see if they can connect you with a company that installs the bluetooth for them so you can get the unit updated. Good luck!
