My iPhone 4S Bluetooth will not connect with either my iPad1, MacBook Pro or Automobile BT. Suspect a stack issue in new BT 4.0 (BTLE) release. Has any one discovered fix to this. I have tried this with two separate 4S phones and have same problem..

Just to be clear, Bluetooth Communicator 2 works with other devices that also have the app installed. Right?

It does NOT work with desk- or laptops! Which is what I want to do...

Shame that people have to pay for a 3rd party app to get bluetooth to work between IOS devices. And that is only "half" the problem solved. And from Apple there is just the usual silence. Very annoying - and disappointing.

I just purchased my iphone 4s yesterday and couldn't sync it to my 2007 Audi A6. Never had problems before, same thing as everybody else.

I called Apple support and after trying a few thing, one of them actually worked!

On your phone, go to:

Settings

General

Reset

Reset Network Settings

Yes

Then I turned off my Bluetooth before I started my car. Then I turned the Bluetooth back on and it picked up my Audi signal immediately.

Obviously, I'm ecstatic because I probably spent 3 hours reading these forums and trying everything last night.

Yes you are right about it... but it makes us sure that the hardware is working... its just the software glitch that Apple needs to work on seriously.

I tried SalmanHyder's trick, but it did not work for me.

I have a MB GL with an iphone4 BT adapter. Worked fine with all previous phones except at OS upgrades I needed to resync.

I too started an Apple call, they seem still to deny it. " You are the first person with this Problem"....

So five months into this issue and a million phone calls later and just when I thought the problem was solved, it failed. I was so desperate for my handsfree in my car to work that I went into the apple store and they gave me a new Iphone 4s...

I get into my car (bearing in mind the phone at this point had none of my info) and it paired no problem. I then go home and connect it to my MacBook to install my info from Backup and the following day it won't work. So I get on the phone to Apple for the gazillionth time and they tell me it is probably one of the app's I installed, so I proceed to remove each one, I go to the Garage sit there with my phone and laptop and the light is green so it's nicely paired, I individually install each app (very very time consuming) I install all but Twitter and the green light in my car remains on. So I gather it was Twitter's fault and leave the app be.

I go back home and do not touch the phone, no new installations, nothing... the following day... it will not work yet again. So I've installed, uninstalled, restarted, restored, disconnected bluetooth, selected the "forget this device" on bluetooth, paired the device again, and nothing.

So basically, unless the phone has no information on it, it will not pair with my car or any other device for that matter. I can't believe I've been through all this trouble when my grotty old blackberry paired with no issues whatsoever. It's unreal to me that they can get away with leaving it like this!!!

I had the same issues connecting to my Mercedes. After reading and trying things here I called my Mercedes Dealership and they said the had an upgrade. I scheduled an appointment (it took 10-15 minutes) and the upgraded the firmware of their BT module and now it works fine with me 4S and my wife's 4 also connects.

When I asked the dealership what it costs they said "Safe trip home"..... i.e. it was free....

My issue is a little bit different form yours. I had an iPhone 4 that worked flawlessly with my BMW 2011 Professional Radio. Then I upgraded it for the 4S. Paired with no problems, but after a month use, it started to malfunction even with the phone paired. Issues are mainly no audio on calls, and one funny thing: phone rings silent and no call is displayed on dash. But the phone remains paired. 🙂 Turning BMW's Bluetooth off and then back on solves the problem until the next day. Then it happens again, almost 3 times a week. It's a non-deterministic problem.

It's clearly a Bluetooth stack implementation bug on iPhone side. Hope Apple fixes it by 5.0.2.

Now that we have a supposed release date for iOS 5.1 (March 9), has anyone heard whether 5.1 will fix this? I've tried all the tricks with my '08 Infiniti G35 and it won't stay paired: two Genius Bar appointments, resetting Network Settings, turning BT off then on before getting in the car, turning wifi off, turning the phone off then on before getting inthe car.

I have a work-issued Blackberry that pairs just fine with the car.

iOS 5.1 has not been announced by Apple. Posts containing "Speculations or rumors about unannounced products" are not allowed on these forums.

Apologies if I have created a problem, but this is a significant issue that apparently many users are having and it is not getting any attention from Apple when compared to the battery issue with iOS 5.

Putting my iPad 2 in airplane mode then turning on bluetooth on both my iPhone 4s and iPad 2 allowed me to pair them. This could be a temporary work-around, but Apple needs to fix this, clearly software related.

Edit: After doing this once I no longer have to enter airplane mode all the time to pair them.

Purchased new Iphone 4S. I tried to sync with Black-berry, Nokia, Samsung and other mobiles also HP - Notepad also. After pairing, it shows not connected.... Still shows a message "searching for device".

I tried with turn-on airplane & bluetooth...

I tried with reset networksettings....

BUT no result.... Iphone is not detecting the other mobile / notepad bluetooth...

Please help me with solutions (if any one already fixed it).

Lots of us are having issues getting the track information to show in our cars (other devices work fine). I suspect there is something wrong with the bluetooth stack in IOS5. I hope Apple fixes these issues in 5.1!

My cheap Scosche unit on the sunvisor worked fine with my 3s, but not with the 4s. I spent a long time listening to an Apple guy tell me it was "firmwear" on the BT unit and not the 4s. So I took the phone back to the ATT store where I bought it three days ago, along with the sunvisor unit. The first guy I ran into took the BT unit and held down the ON button for a long time, and suddenly the 4s phone was in "pairing mode." I'd never been able to accomplish that. And, as they say, Voila! My phone is now connected to the cheap-o Scosche unit! Not sure how this might apply to in-car units, but if you can get the phone to "pairing mode" you may find success.
