The battery in my new iPhone 4s runs down very quickly. Does anyone else have this problem?
I had a similar issue with my iPhone 3GS after I updated to iOS 5. The battery began draining rapidly. The problem evidently went away after I completely powered the iPhone off and then turned it back on again.
To power off, hold down the power button for a few seconds, then on the screen "slide to power off".
Delete the Exchange account, reboot, and add it back.
I tried deleting my mail account and I am still getting ridiculous battery life. I lost 65% in 2 hours!!!! Apple if you are reading this something is wrong. I have the new 4s and just tried resetting the network settings but I have no idea what could be pulling so much usage. All I did was have it in my pocket in standby.
This is such a shame. Anyone who figures anything out or has spoken to apple please post back I am in a bind.
I am having the same issue. Here is everything I have done. I have turned off pond in iTunes, turned off location services, set mail to manual sync, disabled push notifications, turned off Bluetooth, turned the screen down as low as it can go, turned off I cloud sync, and disabled vibrate function. With all this in one night of sleep my battery still drained close to forty five percent in standby. This was after one hundred percent charge right before I went to bed.
I meant ping in iTunes not pond lol
It may be that you all have to many apps running!! double click the home screen and all your running
Apps will appear at the bottom, then delete !! :-)
What about if you're using Reminders and have entered a location-based reminder?
The phone needs to always know where you are therefore the GPS must always be active.
Adding an address as a location alert requires better positioning than standard Skyhook or GSM Tower information so I can't see how it can manage this any other way
Same problem here. I did a clean install of my 4S, so it has nothing to do with restoring from a previous phone. I had my phone plugged in all night charging. This morning at 6am it was only 97% charged. Still plugged in it is now at 96%over an hour later. It is draining even while charging!!!
Apple: HELP
Btw I also got a different weird symptom on my iPad 1. This morning it shows two iCloud mailboxes: one with the new icon and the other with the old MobileMe icon but saying it is iCloud. Both show the exact same info.
I fear iOS 5 is very beta-buggy and was released prematurely. More troubles are bound to arise if these two things already happened.
I think because 3G mode is turning on always on iPhone4S
All applications are closed, I tested this even more and just seemingly having an exchange account on the phone, even when disabled causes the massive drain.
I delete all the apps that are running even though it is said apps are only consuming power when they are actually open on the screen
Is there a way to disable location based reminders? or is that just part of siri, and you have to turn off it's location capability?
Yes you turn off it's location based abilities under location settings.
Re adding the exchange causes the drain to come back instantly. Without a doubt that is a problem.
It is either connecting constantly with the exchange or processing something with it as the phone gets rather warm shortly after exchange is added, and stays that way until it is removed and rebooted.
When I first got my iPad i experienced something similiar. The solution was to let the iPad charge for at least an extra hour over 100%. After doing so, battery life was on par with the published specs.
