Any luck setting up iCloud on Android?

I've switched over to iCloud and now my Samsung Sidekick won't work with my Mac email. Anyone sorted this out yet?

I have a Motorola RAZR i with Jelly Bean. Two days ago the .me account started reporting "wrong username or password". There had been no problem until then.

Everything works fine on my MBP, iMac, iPad. I have deleted the account & tried to add as new using all the vartous settings supplied on this thread but with no luck. On the Motorola Forum one other person has noted the same problem at the same time as me. Anyone having this problem as well who come up with a solution, please post.

Ok, I got it working. Not sure if all of this was necessary but here we go.

First I changed my password for my .me account, as some said this helped

When setting up the account on the RAZR i I put in blahblah@me.com, my new password and opted for "manual" set up and chose IMAP

For Incoming

Imap server is imap.mail.me.com

Port 993

Security type SSL

Authentication method LOGIN

IMAP path prefix unfilled (So it just says "optional" in grey letters

Outgoing settings

SMTP server smtp.mail.me.com

Port 587

Security type None

untick require sign-in

That did it for me, hope it works for others! :-)

I have tried everything under the sun, so it seems, and nothing has worked. When setting up the incoming server settings for my account, I get the message:

"Setup could not finish. Unable to connect to server. (Expected 000a but got 000d)."

I have tried all of the suggestions in this thread without success.

The strange thing is that I am able to send an email from my phone (Galaxy Proclaim), but I cannot receive email. Everything had worked fine in the past, until about September 2012, when I encountered this problem.

Any thoughts???

I've been struggling with this since my Macbook was stolen the other week. Really annoyed by this since it seems I won't be able to access my email at all until I'm at a desktop computer.

Anyway,

On my Galaxy Note 2 I had incoming working perfectly initially. Outgoing was the issue. So I read around, tried a few configs, changed my password, and now... outgoing works perfectly! However, my incoming is now screwed up and won't pull from the server. Please don't tell me it's either/or with this phone.

Current Config for my "xxxx@me.com" address on my AT&T Galaxy Note 2

Incoming:

Username (no @me.com)

Password (one cap, some lowers, and some numbers)

IMAP SERVER: mail.me.com

Security Type: SSL

Port: 993

IMAP path prefix: (optional)

Outgoing:

SMTP Server: smtp.mail.me.com

Security Type: TLS

Port: 587

Require Sign-In is checked.

Username: (full @me email address)

Password (same as before)

No I don't know what the settings were before incoming stopped working, I tried the new outgoing settings on a new account and excitedly deleted the old one before seeing that incoming was giving me issues before. So no reference from the other one for me. :'(

This was just posted by Nicole from Motorola on the Motorola RAZR i Non-US Forum. We have been working with her there to look for solutions

Incoming:

Username/password = In the username field add your email address without the @me.com or @icloud.com at the end. e.g. If your email address wasjohnwayne@me.com you would add johnwayne in the username field.

IMAP server = imap.mail.me.com

Port = 993

Security type = SSL (accept all certificates)

Authentication method = LOGIN

IMAP path prefix = Left blank

Outgoing:

SMTP server = smtp.mail.me.com

Port = 587

Security type = TLS (accept all certificates)

Require sign-in = Ticked

Authentication method = PLAIN

Username/password = Add your email address without the @me.com or @icloud.com at the end. Same as the incoming settings.

Failing that, try configuring the account on K-9 instead. That is an email app that you can download on the Google Play Store. If you are having authentication issues with both applications then this shows that the issue definitely lies with Apple. Taking it from there, it would be best to contact Apple for further assistance.

I already have it working, but thanks anyway.

Using the above mentioned suggestions and trying several variations, I continue to get the following message when going through the incoming server settings:

"Setup could not finish. Unable to connect to server. (Expected 000a but got 000d)."

Using the final suggestion from Nicole, I configured the account on K-9 and I was able to access my account. I still have no idea why I am having issues connecting to the server when trying to set up my .mac account through Android's email.

Hi MAT9000,

Is this on a Motorola RAZRi or other Motorola phone?

If so join this discussion:

It takes a few days for them to reply, but they are active in trying to fix this problem. As Nicole wrote, if you can get on with K-9 but not the regular email app, seems the prpoblem is to do with the phone & they will help to figure it out.
