Any luck setting up iCloud on Android?
I've switched over to iCloud and now my Samsung Sidekick won't work with my Mac email. Anyone sorted this out yet?

Hi!
This thread was very helpful!
I'm running Android 4.4 KitKat on a Moto X. I just installed K9 and was having a **** of a time with my Mac account. Here's what FINALLY worked for me:
UN: xxx@mac.com
PW: password
imap.mail.me.com
SSL/TLS if available
993
smtp.mail.me.com
STARTTLS (if available)
587
Require sign-in
Password
It's sort of a combination of various posts on here. I just kept trying until one worked. I should note that these are NOT the settings that are in the Android default Mail app or on my Macbook Pro.
Honestly, I'd prefer to use the default Android Mail app, but you can't associate specific colors with different accounts.
Cheers!
Add me to the list of people with the Galaxy Note 8 connection problems. I had a tough time getting my windows 8 device to connect but was successful when I realized Apple had assigned me to a specific domain prefix mail server (p08). But I can't get the Note 8 to connect no matter what I try. Motor X had no problems, and Windows doesn't either. At this point I think it's something that Samsung has done.
Hi,
as mentioned in my message above it looks indeed like a firmware bug / issue which is corrected in the latest CMK1 firmware.
Me too. I cant make it work on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5110. Please let me know if you find how to set up the icloud email. Thanks!!
Hi,
update your firmware to cmk1. If that version is not yet available for your country on KIES / online update, you could try to download the UK version from sammobile.com and flash with Odin.It looks very much like a bug of the firmware so I think there's no way around, other than flashing firmware or using different IMAP mail client.
I have a Sprint HTC One with Android 4.3. I can't get past the imap because of "invalid credentials". I tried all of the recommended settings and leaving off/changing the domain, and it still didn't work in the default mail app and K9.
However, works in Thunderbird on FreeBSD - to show it can be done.
I tested on an HTC Wildfire, using the native app. iCloud mail works fine using the default settings.
Here are the settings:
IMAP information for the incoming mail server
SMTP information for the outgoing mail server
To anyone still having issues getting Apple's email to work on their Android phone, here's my one single piece of advice that will work for everyone. There are heaps of email apps on the Play store that offer native support for iCloud/Me.com, so try using those. I've been using Samsung's native app for ages which worked fine, but have recently tried Cloud Magic, Solmail, myMail, Molto all of which require nothing more than your email address & password to authenticate - no server settings required. There are others also, but try this and you won't fail.
I don't know what the issue is for the HTC One with Android 4.3, and most email apps. However, MailDroid is the only email app that seems to work. CloudMagic didn't work and myMail doesn't have a unified inbox.
@Tayker
I use CloudMagic on my Android and iPhone and it works like a charm even for my iCloud account. I don't know why it isn't working for you. Did you try contacting the support team hello@cloudmagic.com or on twitter?
Ok, I tried these on my wife's Note 3 and it worked a treat, Push email and everything. However, my Galaxy S4 doesn't give me the Push option. I can sync every five minutes but anything deleted from the Mail application on my Mac still remains in the inbox on the phone. Any ideas how I can get Push for the S4?
Good advice, thanks! Mymail hooked into icloud with just email address and password AND it is an excellent piece of work.
BTW this is on Android 2.3
Tucker77 what did you try? Settings? Or cloudmagic?
I have my .mac account setup on my Nexus 5. But a) if I delete emails on my computer they remain on the Nexus 5! b) If someone sends me an email with pictures I don't see the pics!
Sorry guys to bring this back up again - but I still need help regarding point a in my post above. When I delete emails on my Mac they remain on my Nexus 5. And b) Still not getting pictures come through from some other email providers - .mac included!
Thanks 🙂
I used these settings as listed here;

Now, I also have the same issue as you in that the emails remain on my S4 once deleted from my Mac. To get around it I have to go in to the emails on the phone and delete one of them and then push the refresh button which then deletes all the other messages that shouldn't be there. Bit of a pain but it's the best I can manage so far.
