Can't connect Bluetooth on iPhone 4S

I cannot connect my iPhone 4S bluetooth to my Mazda CX-9 - my old 3GS worked perfectly. Any suggestions?

Me neither. I have a 2011 Mazda 3. The bluetooth pairing worked perfectly on my 3Gs. Now, it either won't pair, or when it does, the audio quality is screwy. When it does manage to connect, the volume is low, and there's all this static in between tracks, neither of which happened with the 3Gs. I've tried deleting the device on the car, and forgetting the device on the phone, and then going through the pairing process all over again a couple times, but to no avail.

It just doesnt connect to cars, It doesnt connect to anything

I also have a iphone 4s and my Bluetooth cant see anything. I work in a office full of bluetooth devices, My ipad 2 sees 20+ Bluetooth devices, my iphone 4s sees none. Doesnt even see my iphone ipad2.

So is this another software bug or is this a physical malfunction in the phone it self.

Im begining to wonder about apple now and the quality.

Ive rebooted the phone and the fault is the same.

Bluetooth switches on but thats it.

What is going on.

This should have not been missed at all.

You can be disappointed all you want, but don't assume it's Apple's fault or responsibility to force other device manufacturers to keep up with technology. According to my iPhone4s, it is using Bluetooth 4.0, so if your devices are not compatible with Bluetooth 4.0, you should be complaining to the device manufacturers to give you an update for your device so it is compatible.

As far as other Apple devices not working together, that certainly would be Apple's problem. But don't blame Apple so quickly for everything else.

The not finding other devices I can cope with. However not finding or liking with the iPad through the games I can't

It's no good having 2 player games when I can't get the bluetooth to work and that's what I'm disappointed at.

I luv my iPhone and always raving on about it. Infact I've got more and more of my friends to get iPhones but when the basic Bluetooth doesn't work between apple devices then I become some what disappointed.

What exactly are you trying to do? The iPhone only supports a few specific bluetooth protocols, and always has only supported a few. Those are listed here - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3647

Other than that, bluetooth pairing with an iPhone is simply not supported.

Well Im going to have to sort of eat Humble pie as Ive managed to get the iphone 4s Bluetooth to work, Well work in a fashion.

When you switch the Iphone 4s on, it sees nothing, however switch my ipad 2 on and it sees over 20+ devices.

ipad 2 doesnt see the 4s tho and vice versa.

However if i use the bluetooth file transfer then all of a sudden they see each other and link and yes work.

I also have 5 games that link via bluetooth and at present only 3 work, the other 2 advise that there isnt any bluetooth devices, so im now going to assume that they need the update.

I then manage to get my 4s to see my bluetooth itech headsent device, this took me a good 5 mins but it worked and works fine.

So ive come to the conclusion that even though when you switch the 4s bluetooth on, the only device it would see for me was my bluetooth headset unless the app requested it to work with another apple device.

When the iphone 4 and ipad 2 show every bluetooth device im not sure, but im happy that ive managed to get the 4s to work and that my bluetooth does work with 3 games and to transfer photos to my ipad 2

I can only think that the reason why the 4s tells u there isnt a device until the app requests it as bluetooth on apple iphones is only for transfer of photos and bluetooth headsets etc. for anything else there isnt a point in showing on the screen. This is my only conclusion.

One thing, My laptop sees the 4s and connects to it and the phone says connected too. It does nothing else after lol.

Any way i though i would share my 3 days of findings with you.
