Photostream is not syncing on my Windows 7 PC

So... no matter what I do, I can't get Photostream to sync to my Windows 7 PC.

I have iCloud desktop set up. I have the folders where they should be. Photostream works on my iPhone (I turned it off on my iPhone, it removed the pics, turned it back on, and it loaded them back on)

However, photos placed in upload on my PC don't upload... and no photos from my photostream have loaded on to my comptuer. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the iCloud desktop program.

Any thoughts? It's working great on my wife's PC (which I set up), so it's not that I don't understand the concept.

I've even shut down my virus scanner to see if that was blocking (it wasn't).

Sooooo... it's driving me crazy. Is there a service I can look for in Windows that might not be running? Anything? Anyone? Buehler? I need help!

Worse than not syncing, Photostream was working perfectly and uploading pics from my upload folder for the last 2 months. I'm on Win 7 64 bit. I just bought an iPhone and turned off photostream on it. That is the only change I've made as far as I can tell and boom, no pictures in the cloud at all. I was reviewing them using my 2nd gen Apple TV and no it says there are no photos there. It would be great if we could "force" a sync, i.e. "Sync Now" button in the iCloud control panel. Don't know if the iPhone is just a coincidence or the cause of my Cloud picture folder being empty.

Hey guys, thought I'd give the solution that finally worked for me, as it may pertain to some of your issues as well:

I am part of a domain and I have the My Documents folder with the My Pictures folder in it being synced to the domain server. If you right click the My Pictures folder and go to Properties there might be two folder locations there...one for the local My Picture folder and one for the one residing somewhere else. I deleted the location that leads back to the other server and left the local one, under C:\Users\Public\Pictures, and that seemed to clear up my issue. Everything started syncing once I set it to that folder. Hope this helps some of you!

I have Windows Vista and had issues discribed above. After much trial and error, here is what worked for me: I saved into new Temporary folders all pictures that were in my Photo Stream folders. Then I deleted all pictures in my Photo Stream folder on my PC and deleted all pictures in Camera Roll and Photo Stream on my iPhone. It was like starting with a clean slate.

Next step was to add a picture to my PC Photo Stream upload folder. It went right to my iPhone. Then I took a picture with my iPhone and it went right to my PC. I was thrilled. Problem was solved........for me. Also, after I rebooted my PC the next day, it was still working. I did nothing else as suggested in the prior 9 pages above.

If this issue resurfaces again sometime, I'll do the same thing.

Have had the Vista problem too. Got a clue from the person who said they had 2 accounts...

Signed out of my mac.com account and then signed back in using me.com

That was it after months of frustration. Hope this helps someone else too!

Holy crap, that finally fixed it for me. Amazing.

This is the same problem I had. It worked fine up until recently. My PC doesn't want to download new pictures at all. I know my stream is working, because I can see pictures I take on my phone on both my iPad, and my AppleTV.

Tried the upload trick, no luck. Tried the uncheck, check, apply, no luck. I looked for that executable mentioned above to run as an adminstrator, but I couldn't find it. I'm bummed out, as I was really digging this feature.

After trying out all of the fixes shared on this thread nothing worked for me. I am using win 7 enterprise 64 bit, and my PC is part of a domain. Finally, using the original iCloud installer for PC I downloaded from apple.com, I hit the uninstall option to remove everything that had to do with iCloud on my PC; rebooted my PC and did a clean install using that same installer. I did not loose any pictures already stored on the My Photo Stream folder and it magically started syncing again where it had left off a couple of weeks ago when it stopped working. Hope this helps someone out.

The solution posted by TomixM fixed it for me. I actually thought about doing this myself, but kept thinking "there's got to be a better way than uninstall and reinstall". But it worked.

I had the same problem: Win7 x64, PhotoStream working fine for months, but for a few days, it stopped downloading new photos.

I uninstalled it, rebooted, downloaded the installer from Apple's site and reinstalled. All working perfectly.

Just a mention: I selected a new folder (still under My Pictures in Home) for PhotoStream. But I checked the file and folder permissions in the new folder (working) and the old one (not working) and they are identical, and inherited from My Pictures, the parent folder, so it does not seem to be a permission issue.
