Photostream is not syncing on my Windows 7 PC

So... no matter what I do, I can't get Photostream to sync to my Windows 7 PC.

I have iCloud desktop set up. I have the folders where they should be. Photostream works on my iPhone (I turned it off on my iPhone, it removed the pics, turned it back on, and it loaded them back on)

However, photos placed in upload on my PC don't upload... and no photos from my photostream have loaded on to my comptuer. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the iCloud desktop program.

Any thoughts? It's working great on my wife's PC (which I set up), so it's not that I don't understand the concept.

I've even shut down my virus scanner to see if that was blocking (it wasn't).

Sooooo... it's driving me crazy. Is there a service I can look for in Windows that might not be running? Anything? Anyone? Buehler? I need help!

Thing is, I can get it working on Windows 7 64bit.

I have to logout, uninstall the control panel, reboot machine, re-install, and it works.

Until my machine reboots again, and then it doesn't.

This has been working for me on a Windows 7 64-bit machine:

1. Close the iCloud control panel.

2. Open the task manager and end the Apple PhotoStream process.

3. Reopen the iCloud control panel.

After I do this and then open my PhotoStream folder on my PC, the new pictures start rolling in. I repeat the steps every time I want my iPhone photos to download/upload. Hope that helps.

Have tried that. Doesn't work. The only solution that works for me is a complete uninstall and reinstall.

Hmm.. For the heck of it, I tried anniebeagle's suggestion, and as expected it didn't work.

However.. When I was in the task manager, I noticed that ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe was not there. I went to the directory on my machine where it was, and forcibly ran the thing as administrator. As soon as I did that, the photos started coming down again.

The file is here, if you want to try this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe

I also ran it as administrator & it downloaded my photos. Guess have to do that each time I want to download photos

Now how do you get the uploads to work? Put a picture in the uploads folder, hasn't uploaded

Just letting you guys know that I too was having the same issues so I reverted back to an earlier version which works. In particular version 1.0.1. It must be something with the current version.

savagelee, I tried that. Didn't work here. The only two things that work for me are:

1) Uninstall and reinstall

2) Manually running the ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe app when I want to download pictures.

Well, looks like I spoke too soon. Stoping the PhotoStream process and restarting iCloud is not working for me anymore. I tried manually running the ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe, but that didn't work either. Guess I'm back to using Dropbox. Not ideal, but at least it works.
