iPhone iOS5 - How to turn off ALL notifcations overnight, but leave phone ON?

Hey all:

I really like the new notification center and all, but I've found a small issue with how I do things..... Since my phone is my alarm, I sleep with it right by my head and I don't want buzzes from Facebook or emails or such. However, I don't want to go to airplane mode so that someone could still call me if there's an emergency.

I used to do this with iOS4:

1. > Settings > Notifications > OFF and

2. > Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Turn Push to OFF, and Fetch to Manual

With iOS5, I can still do # 2, but #1 really isn't there anymore. As I understand it, I'd have to go to the screen for a whole mess of individual apps to turn off their notifications.

Does anyone else have a better way to do this? Basically, I want the PHONE on and everything else OFF.

Thanks!!!!!

iPhone 4, iOS 4.2.7

I hear you, I also need the same function badly.

I travel a lot, and don't want to incur data roaming costs unless I say so,

So in ios4 I would simply turn off push mail, and notifications in few simple steps, and the saving starts

Bt now, it's a painful process, and confusing might I add,

Am not sure if I turn off badges, that it is off, or in notification center, not in notification center, just the sound, etc

Dear Apple, FIX PLEASE !!!!

Not sure this will help, but could try moving those apps you are most concerned about going off to out of notification center by hitting edit in notification center and moving them down there. That keeps them out of notification permanently until you move back, may be easier to do than going into each one turning off and on. Just a thought

I want the same feature for different reasons. I have a 4 year old that plays preschool learning games and everytime she swipes her finger down the notification screen covers up her game, even with every app switched to off in the settings>notifications. It's difficult to explain to a 4 year old not to make a swiping motion in a certain direction while plaing a game where you're swiping puzzle peices or letters or whatever the case may be. I hope they fix this soon.

Ok,

There is still no good answer so far,

i dont want to turn off data roaming, because i am still going to use it, but i just need the phone not to keep pulling data, unless i specify that by opening an app.

so in iOS4, data roaming on, notification off, and mail on manual, this allowed me to simply click on whatsapp or mail or twitter, and it would pull the data, but as soon as i am out of the app, the data usage is off.

and this whole in/out of notification center, doesnt really say wheather it is only in the pull down menue, or simply there is no data usage, and i actually tried, and i still recieved notifications while the app was in NOT in notification center,

as i said,

dear apple, PLEASE FIX !

This is really bothering me too!!! This is one of the (many) things that I really miss coming from a BlackBerry smartphone where there is a feature called Bedside mode which does exactly what people here are asking for. Bedside mode selectively disables notifications, tones, blinking lights etc then dims screen and leaves the phone (only, if you wish) active. It is fully customizable. You can also set it so that when you plug the phone in after a certain time it automatically goes in to Bedside mode and wakes up with all notifications activated when the alarm goes off. Is there an App for that...🙂

No answer here but add my vote as needing this feature. I don't want any alerts under certain conditions including those from my calendar and Reminders. I don't "think" those even need a network connection. Here's when this is a problem. The iPhone and iPad now have great music apps. You can use the device with a MIDI controller for a live performance. But that last thing you want is to be in the middle of a song and get an alert. You can put it in airplane mode but that doesn't disable all alerts.

I suppose the best answer is to pick up an extra iPod Touch and only install your music apps so no alerts can pop up. Ideally, if I was playing professionally, I would probably have at least 2 or 3 of these set up the same as backups.
