iCloud backup problem

Hello everyone here is my issue.

I updated to iOS 5 last night thinking I will have avoided the "rush" to upgrade. So here is my iCloud problem.

1.) Last night I enabled iCould, then performed a manual backup, which took about 20 minutes, but then when it was complete it kept saying "last backup unknown" and then in managing storage it stated no backup ever took place.

2.) Today, I decided to totally delete my iCloud account and then try again, now it won't let me turn on iCloud backup, it just says "cannot activate iCloud backup" with the option of trying again... BUT, if I "force" iCloud backup through iTunes it will turn on iCloud, which is where I am currently at.

3.) So now that iCloud has manually been "forced" in via iTunes, when I go to perform a manual backup on the phone it says "there was a problem completing the backup, please try again later". Its been doing that all day.

Anyone have any ideas? If its on Apple's side that's fine, I just want some sort of confirmation of that.

Thanks for the help!

Ho Rodolfo! FIXED, WITHOUT ANY DOUBTS.

Here my steps:

1. Delete the old backup in the iCloud using Win 7 control panel

2. Login into iCloud with my master AppleID and activate the backup

3. Select only few App to backup to have a small backup size, in order to wait just few minutes

4. ALL DONE!

After this first backup, i've Made an incremental backup choosing others AppS. ALL worked fine. Also deleted the account and reactivated Just for testing... ALL fine!

Thans to ALL! I hope ALL AppleId will be FIXED soon by Apple...

Dear all,

Please notice that this issue can not be fixed by yourself.

If you had a similar issue. Raise a ticket to Apple.

I talk to Apple one weeks ago. After over 4 times talk with apple, 2 days account lockup by Apple. My account for iCloud finally got normal.

It is a internal issue from Apple, that at beginning they even told me everything is fine, so I pasted this discussion to them. After another two day, it got fixed.

Thanks

Well, I upgraded my iCloud storage yesterday to 15GB and attempted multiple times to perform a backup, all with no success. I've tried everything listed here and stil cannot perform a backup. It starts and then says it cannot complete a backup. At first I thought it was because I didn't have enough space for the backup, but it says the backup size is 6.5GB and that's plenty of room. So I contacted support and setup an appointment for them to contact me today at noon, so we'll see.

Off to a great start, this iCloud.

I had a lot of problems with iCloud's backup and wireless syncing with iTunes until I removed all my custom ringtones (synced separately with iToner) from it and synced only the ones in iTunes. Now wireless syncing with iTunes and backups work fine.

Just an idea - maybe you have some custom items added to your device?

I got it to work by creating a new icloud account - per Stex and others' prior advice - so I'm pretty reluctant to go back and mess with it again. It's working and that's enough.

BUT - how were you able to "open a ticket" or raise a tech error with Apple? When I tried to go to "support" they wanted cash in advance before I could even describe the problem. Is there a way? Thanks.
