iPhone 4S - Outgoing call no audio

Picked up a Verizon iPhone 4S - 32GB and on about 1 in 10 calls I get no outbound audio when dialing. Call shows the timer counting as if the call is progressing but absolutely no ring back and cannot hear the party on the other end when they answer.

Anyone else having this issue? I've found a few forums online stating people have had luck hitting the speaker button on and off to get it working again but it hasn't failed in the past 20 minutes for me to test that theory..

Thanks...

Hello,

I promised to keep you updated about my progress.

I didn't have the time to try the Update to 5.0.1 (9A406) before yesterday night, but when I was finished with all the steps the Apple Hotline described to me, guess how surprised I was, when I found after the Update that my new version was 5.1 (9B179)! I didn't know it was already released.

The only problem I had, was that the Apple Update Server couldn't be reached the first few times I tried the "Restore"-Option in ITunes. I was worried, something else were wrong with my computer. But when I tried again sometime later, everything worked fine. So it seems the Server only was busy with all the people trying to download 5.1.

The first few calls after the update worked fine. I'm not fully convinced yet, but hopeful, that the problem is really fixed.

So bye, bye for the time being,

have fun

Goodbye my OCNA friends . . . . . tup sweet . . . .

Seems the Apple of our eyes has seen fit to work overtime and assuage our OCNA pains.

We even rated a note on the 5.1 update changes!!!!

All is well. Mr. Jobs would be pleased. Call and call some more on your iPhones! The dark Android universe remains so!!!

I wrote yesterday that it did not seem to help, but now I am thinking it did. It occurred to me that if you are trying to talk to another person with an iPhone, then it could be the other person having the problem, and not you with your upgraded OS.

For my last eight or so calls there did not seem to be any issues.

Why don't you do a soft reset, then call someone and then have them call you. After, try someone who you know has a different kind of phone, or who has a landline. See if you can determine any difference.

Even my speakerphone seems to be clearer.

To all,

The thin paper in the back of the phone is a confirmed fix. True. But why?....

Many theories. Some say it is a bad connection and the paper "cures" the connection. Others say the sim card is not seating and the paper "cures" the connection issue. Others, such as myself say it is the antenna grounding out and cancelling each other.

Regardless, to much bad press makes All corporations listen. Facebook is the consumers new best friend for getting the word out when CNN, FOXNEWS, ABC, CBS, NBC will not.

In case you all have missed it, this very forum has a 165 page discussion on this.

GET YOUR MONEY BACK if you paid Apple to replace a phone that was not defective. I still say antenna issue.
