How do I delete iCloud calendars from Outlook 2010?

I installed the iCloud control panel on my Windows 7 PC.

The results were not what I expected.

I wish to remove the iCloud calendars from Outlook. The program is not allowing me to do this.

I have already uninstalled the iCloud control panel from my PC.

Any help would be appreciated.

This works:

1. In Outlook, copy all your (wanted) contacts from the iCloud contacts section back to your previous Outlook contacts section - iCloud will have moved them out when you installed it.

a. Go to Contacts in Outlook, select the Contacts - iCloud section

b. Select them all (eg: click on the first one, scroll down to last one, shift-click on the last one)

c. Use Ctrl-C to COPY them

d. Open your previous Contacts location in Outlook. It may well be empty.

e. Use Ctrl-V to PASTE your contacts there (there is no Paste option on the right click menu, but Ctrl-V works)

Close Outlook.

2. Go to the iCloud application (Start button, type iCloud ...)

a. untick the 'Synchronise contacts with Outlook' box

b. click Apply.

Sign out of iCloud.

3. In Outlook:

a. File tab

b. Info tab

c. Account Settings / Account settings

d. Data Files tab

e. Select the row for iCloud so that it becomes highlighted in blue

f. Click on "X Remove"

4. If desired, remove 'iCloud for Windows'

a. Start Control Panel

b. Programs and Features

c. Select iCloud

d. Click 'Change'

e. Uninstall it

I think I found the solution to the duplicate event alerts. Looking at the properties of two seemingly identical alerts, one said the location was Calendar and the other said Calendar02. I didn't see Calendar02 anywhere in my folder list or data files, so I clicked on my calendar and ran an advanced search with criteria In Folder = calendar02 ("In Folder" is available under the Add Criteria button). That turned up tons of entries. I had to run the search twice -- each time it would stop, saying there were too many results and I needed to narrow my search criteria. Each time I deleted the items the search found and reran the search. I think they're all gone, but time will tell.

1. Make sure you back up and restore all you contacts, calendar, email files back to their original location and ensure icloud program is no longer set to sync them.

2. In Oultook 2010, go to accounts, account settings, Data files, and delete icould. (Close and reopen outlook)

3. Recommend for those of you want this option, use the Gmail and outlook sync (gmail as the middleman). Great instructions at http://support.google.com/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740

to setup ipad calendar up with Google Sync. You will also need google sync on your PC. http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gappssync

This data is synced both ways (between IPAD and Goggle) and then google sync (see link above) keeps your outlook on your desktop pc updated. I have a google acount/email only because I have a driod, i don't use the email, but the calendar is great to keep my PC, IPAD, Ipod Touch all in sync.

Hope this was helpful.

Trouble is using this method deleting the iCloud data file also removes the iCloud Contacts which is no good for me as this is the only way I can get contacts synced between all my devices iPad, iPhone and Outlook 2007. What I did was to go to www.iCloud.com then delete Calendar from there. This stops duplicate entries in Outlook 2007 but unfortunately iCloud Calendar still exists and is still the default Calendar. Very annoying 😟

The way it worked for me was to go to iCloud control panel and sign out in the lower left.

After signing out it asked me if I wanted to restore my calendar and contacts.

I said yes and it did restore them although I wasted an hour of nonbillable time figuring this out.

What a POS.

I was a MobileMe user and that was a POS and Apple even figured that out and now have come up with a new POS to foist on unsuspecting computer users.

It really is hard to figure out who is worse, MSFT or Apple.

I followed this posting and got rid of the calendar, but it also removed ALL of my CONTACTS in Outlook.

I had turned off syncing for outlook in the iCloud control panel it the calendar was still listed... So I checked the accounts tab in outlook and sure enough there was a data file there. I delete the data file and the calendar disappeared.

Probably the easiest way, so I wanted to share.
