Can't access iTunes store - store page freezes

When i try to access the iTunes store it freezes half way through and looks like this

User uploaded file

I had the same problem last time iTunes updated and was able to get someone to fix it although they can't now remember what they did.

Things i've tried so far

deleting old preference files - all of them

uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes several times

full virus scan

checking proxy settings are correct

ran iTunes diagnotistics all came back as fine

rebuilt network information

deleted host files

deleted plug ins

I'm getting pretty desperate now, just can't work it out and all the online support now seems to be stuff i've done which didn't work.

Hope you can help - Anthony

Tried everything still doesn't work for me. It all started with an update back in Oct 2011. Hasn't worked since. Safari is out too, not that I use it anyway. I've been making purchases from Amazon since I haven't been able to access iTune Store. I quess the only thing left for me to do is to reinstall my OS. Not doing it just for iTunes. Until then, it will be Amazon.

Me too, Randy, me too. I've tried everything (short of reinstalling my OS, which I'm not doing just for iTunes), and nothing works. The recommended fixes on this thread either didn't work, or actually caused other problems with my computer. The October 2011 update started my problems, too. I continue to be appalled that Apple doesn't seem to care about this problem at all. I'm not buying anything from iTunes, because I can't, so you'd think Apple would be concerned about lost revenue. I guess Apple is too big to care.

I had my computer for only a week when I decided to update my iTunes software and the problems started. I've sent Apple a lot of emails describing my and many other users of this problem. They always reply..with a generic, robotic email back to me. I don't know what it is with their software that prevents you from reaching the iTunes store but they should consider changing it. Maybe they should make the iTunes store independant of the iTunes software. We should just be able to go to the site and dowmload our desired songs. Amazon is this way. I have no trouble getting songs from Amazon and playing them in iTunes. Amazon is almost on par with ITunes so it's not a total loss for me but iTunes have a few more choices.

Apple sure doesn't make it easy to find solutions to their problems. Tried many other Apple suggestions to no avail. Finally found this after many many months of searching off and on. This did work for me. All of my music purchases have been on Amazon. Same music for a lot less. I will still keep making my purchases from Amazon. Your lose Apple.

After a year and 3 months with no iTunes Store, it finally opened! It seems that there are various reasons for iTunes Store to stall based on all the comments and fixes that has worked for some but not others that I've read. I still think that Apple should have a separate iTunes Store website to just download music, videos, and other content and have the iTunes software as a "player' of the downloaded content. There are too many problems with the software conflicting with other apps you may have on your computer. Each user has to pinpoint which app is causing a conflict with iTunes Store. Apparently various. I've discovered the Amazon Music store since I've been having trouble with the Itunes Store and it is simple to use. Download Music from their website and play it in iTunes. No need to download their software to purchase music. Anyway, I've discovered that Speedbit Accelerator that I had on my machine was causing the iTunes Store to stall. Once I got rid of it, the store finally opened. Thanks Subaru for suggesting Autoruns to see what is running.

I will gladly try this at some point, Right now I'm so frustrated. I wanted to buy songs from Voice singers I uninstalled and re-installed I followed various instructions. I've sent hours on this last week and then again last night and right when I got home today. They are sure losing money on me and probably countless others. SO TOTALLY FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!!!!!
