Storage almost Full message appearing constantly on my iPhone 4

Yes may be a stupid question BUT i can't find this anywhere online. So I need a bit of help on this.

I get a pop-up on the screen every so often ...

Storage almost Full message appearing constantly on my iPhone 4 only AFTER updating to iOS5. After update iOS5 seems to have stolen nearly a BIG chunk of my iPhone's memory/storage for itself, so had to remove a number of apps to give myself at least 700mb free. Message pop-up still appears. I then removed yet more apps - note that with the old iOS4's I never had this issue & all the apps I was removing now worked perfectly fine on the phone!

Then had over 2gb free & yet I was STILL getting the message. My iCloud is 100% free (ie 5gb available). Storage in settings/useage shows up as 2gb+ free.

So what's going on???

The pop-up states: "Storage Almost Full you can manage your storage in Settings."

I am going to lose my mind.

For a couple months my phone has been saying "not enough storage". At first I understand it was too full to back up to my ICLOUD any more, as I did not wish to purchase more storage. Having Just purchased a mac book pro.... this did not bother me, as I did syncs directly anyhow.

Then everytime I wanted to take a picture it would say storage is too full,...FRUSTRATING.... so I kept deleting pics over and over, and unloading them more and more...but now I have only 10 photos on my phone and it still says this.

I have gone into phone settings, cleared out notes, cleared almost every app, music You name it. My phone is CURRENTLY full of 6 gb OTHER data according to my computer summary. what is this stuff ????

I have gone thru forum after forum, none of the fixes work.... Many People think is is a BUG an I beleive this could be true.

here is what I have done

Reset and wiped it 3 times, restored from back up- same prob,,,,so now I am sure my back up is full of this corrupt data which is a PAIN because I need to syn my contacts, I refuse to wirte them all down and re enter....i Have soooooo many.

I have tried to sync with ICLOUD back up. it says it is too full.....even tho EVERYTHING i can turn off to syn is turned off....everything! I even delted documents and data.

I have reset everything, tried to force ICLOUD like 100 times. removed all pics and apps.,,,

I am BEYOND freustrated and about to go buy the GALAXAY 4 in a minute here.

I even logged out of my icloud signed up for a new one, I even logged out of itunes incase there was stuck data, that didnt work...

any IDEAS???? I have tried everything I have read so far. I sold I phones for TELUS for 3 years so I understand phones.

After my itunes issue last year I'm pretty fed up

You can't backup at all! I had the same issue, did full DFU restore like new iphone and had to setup from scratch. Whatever you do, DON'T use iCloud sync/backup. That's what I figured out was causing the problem for me at least. Once you sign in to your apple id, you can go pick from your purchased apps which ones you want to install, and you have to setup all your accounts again.

I know, it totally *****, but I haven't had a problem since!

My phone does the same thing. I even calculated the MBs and concerted them to GBs to see how much GBs I was using. I was only using about 5gbs meaning that I should have atleast 7gb left. However, it's saying that all my 13gb is being used. Used on what?! Please let me know so that I can delete it. And it's been this way for almost 2 months. Deleted so many apps and pics and still have the problem. Then when you plug it to the computer it says other. What is other?!?!?!?!

I have the exact same problem you all do. I restored my Iphone 4 already, and it worked well for some time until magically all the free space filled up out of nowhere. I urge Apple to fix this, since I've had this problem for two months now and it's so frustrating that I can't take a picture because the storage is full when I barely have anything on the phone. What's going on?????😠

For those with icloud problems there is a unbelievably simple "solution" to the problem (not getting in to manage storage, only spinning wheel).

All you have to do is click "backup now" at the bottom and immediately as it is calculating estimated time for backup you click "manage storage" and VOILA! You´re in. Believe me it works, done it on 2 phones this evening. One 4s on iOS7 and one 5 on iOS6.1.3

As it is probably your camera roll that is taking up all space (although you probably erased much but it has not synced with actual size), simply uncheck it and let icloud erase its backup. Then of course check it again and make new backup. Mine jumped from 6,3Gb to 4,2.

This may not answer problems with the storage of the iPhone itself.
