how to do i find the password to unlock your iphone backup file
A-FLOOPIN-MEN.................... This ***** :/// So much stuff lost!! and this has been going non for a while, you'd think Apple would try ad solve it. This is why I am switching from apple.
For the Apple ID Attempt would be the whole email? Like for example Apple@yahoo.com or Just "Apple"? Because I tried both and failed, both times. What am I doing wrong?
I went to my list of passwords and tried them all. Eventually, one worked and it wasn't my Mac, iTunes, or iPhone lock password. It was just one I chose, I guess, a long time back for purposes of back-up, I suppose, that I didn't make a note of.
Hi! do you know how to REMOVE THE PASSWORD from the back-up?
i've tried everything with no success, would it help if i format the pc?
You cannot remove the password from a backup. If you could there would be no point in having a password. If you can't remember the password you will have to restore your phone as a new phone.
If you format your PC you will lose all content on it, including the backup. And your iTunes content - music, videos, apps. And any documents you have that you need (If you don't have any content on your computer that you need why do you have a computer at all?)
Sounds rather drastic, but it's your choice.
i've all my document and everything backed up on an external hard drive. And my ipad still has all the everythings intact,i just want a way to take the password off since i want to upgrade to ios 6 and need to backup the ipad.i backed up and tried a restore but it asked for a password
You can delete the backup from the file system (not with iTunes), and, if you do not have a corporate email account create a new one without a password. If you do have a corporate account the password is forced on you by your Exchange administrator.
i do have two different apple account, how do i delete backup from the file system and does that clear the password?Sorry but don't understand what you mean, thanks.does this password have anything to do with the passwords i use on the ipad?
I don't know if deleting the backup clears the password, but if you can't guess what the password is (it is a password that you have used in the past) deleting the backup may clear it. If it doesn't there's a setting in the iTunes database that needs to be cleared also; that's harder to do, and you would lose your playlists. And the last possibility is the corporate email account requiring it. But, if you can't use the backup there's no harm in deleting it as its useless.
To delete it go to the right location and delete the backup folder:
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Thank You,
It encoraged me to remember different password possiblities. And finally I found the original. But It really didn't contin alfa numeric or one Uper and Lowr case later. It was only numeric.
Thanks
I have been trying to figure this out FOREVER and eventually I just said F*** it and sat here for 30 minutes trying to type in every password that i have ever used.
