I will only buy DVDs with iTunes Disgital copy. It's the only service that's truly "take anywhere". And what I resent is the big banner, "Digital Copy" and then the fine print "iTunes digital not available on this ...." For me, it's not 'digital copy' unless is iTunes digital. And now newer DVDs with iTunes digital come with the code and extra disc not needed. Just enter the code thru Apple Store. I don't like the message, that it's only a one time transfer.....but I'll cross that bridge when I'm up against that wall. This all needs to be resolved or we will quit buying any DVDs altogether. The iTunes digital permit me to watch a movie when I'm flying to Brazil to visit my daughter and Grand-dau or when I'm at my aunt's who does not have internet. Yes!! Not everyone has a computer or internet.
You will only end up painting yourself into a corner with this kind of mentality.

I have no concern or care for Non-Apple users.
And yet there are more people that are NON-APPLE users.
Studios are trying to reach ALL CUSTOMERS, not just the small percentage of the Apple variety. I don't know if it is arrogance or ignorance that makes Apple users believe that Digital Copy = iTunes.
The landscape has changed as tafan has pointed out and you can either sit on the sidelines and complain (which gets you nowhere) or adapt and reap the rewards.
