OS X Tiger 10.4.11 & iTunes

I've got a G3 iBook running OS X Tiger 10.4.11 and iTunes 8.2.1.

Whenever I try to access the iTunes store all I get is a screen suggesting

that I upgrade my iTunes to version 10.3. I can't do this because iTunes v10

won't run without an OS X upgrade, which my G3 can't do. Leopard being an OS too far

for my machine.

My question is: How do I bypass this annoying 'upgrade to iTunes v10' screen, so that

I can purchase music tracks? Clicking on the 'home' icon or doing a 'Search iTunes'

doesn't seem to work.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Not sure why having an older version of iTunes should stop you buying music.

Probably because in some recent programming to accommodate new features of iTunes store (e.g., Cloud, Match) they decided that it would be too much of a time investment to include features specially for the relatively small handful of people running a pretty old version of iTunes versus targeting the much larger group running newer computers. My pet summary is people like me run old systems because we can't afford to spend a lot of money on things, and if you're a for-profit company I'm not exactly the target demographic for development support.
