Double Message Alerts with iPhone 4s.

Has anyone encountered this problem? And, more importantly, figured out how to fix this?

My iPhone 4s gives two rapid sound alerts for one text message, and I cant understand why. Very annoying.

Hai All,

Its very simple to remove this problem. follow below steps.

1. Goto Settings --> Messages --> Send&Recieve

2. If you have ticked more than one option in the slection of "You can reached by iMessage at:" remove all other than one. ( This can be your mobile number or Mail ID) If you have two selection then you will be altered twice, three means three times, like its go.

This is worked for iPhone 4S with iOS 6.1.3

Have a blast🙂

I have the same problem now....just started 9/1/2013..... on my iPhone 5. I am looking at shutting down the Settings - Sounds - Tweet tone to see if there is bleed-over from the type of message the device thinks it is receiving. There may be some app update which has caused the system to think it is a Tweet and a Message being delivered.

When this all goes wrong, it does the Tweet tone first; then the message appears, then another Tweet tone.

Testing Complete ----

Changing the tone on your Message (Tweet tone) setting gets rid of the double Tweet sound but, try just changing your Tweet sound acknowledgment first. If you don't use Tweet as a service, why have it do anything....try this as well.

This takes the quirks out. No new device required.

I've also had this problem, but I'm pretty sure it's not a bug as it only happened with my gmail accounts that were set up as exchange. I think it is due to Gmail's Inbox and All Mail folders both receiving a "new mail".

I've changed them all to standard IMAP (gmail) accounts and now no longer have the problem.
