Issue Mac OS 10.7.2 with Lotus Notes 8.5.3 menus

Is anyone having a problem with Mac OS 10.7.2 and Lotus Notes 8.5.1 or now 8.5.3 where the menu items and Apple Menu no longer drop down? All other items on the main window of Notes seem to work, just can't select any of the main menus at the top of the screen.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

I've tried fixing permissions, I initially installed 8.5.3 over 8.5.1, I removed Notes and reinstalled 8.5.3 again, I spent three hours on the phone with IBM Notes people. The problem is still there and so far can't seem to fix it. Frustrated! None of the top pull down menus work - can't select files to attach to an e-mail (I can drop and drag a file into the window), I can't get to other people calendars since I can't get to the pull down for that (I found if I'm setting up a meeting, I can click on the person's name and eventually get to their calendar that way), I can't get to the Notes Help menu, can't get to the Apple Menu - all when looking at the window when running Notes 8.5.1 or 8.5.3 same issue. I've looked and looked all over the net to try and find a solution - NONE so far.

Well .............. amazingly today after about 3 more hours of help from IBM Notes, I successfully got Lotus Notes 8.5.3 to work fine with Mac OS 10.7.2. We removed the old Notes installs again, looked all around for older Notes related files, and finally got it all back and running including the pull down menus! I can now say 8.5.3 will work with 10.7.2!

Same problem on a Mac Air.

Did the following...

Removed the old installation compleet.

see:

https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21092490

I installed the Full notes 8.5.3 version and it worked, but much slower.

Then I added the folowing line in the Notes Preferences

UseBasicNotes=1

see:

After restarting Notes it came up with the basic look and feel, but hey the dropdown-menu problem is there again. But after removing the above line in the Notes Preferences it worked again fine.

So use the full-version.
