Iphone 4s Charging Issues

Thanks for the information. Alas, I don't have a USB cable that stretches from my office to my car. But I'll try other 2.1 chargers. Anything not to have my iPhone discharge while plugged in.

Just to be clear, the charger i needed was for my car. The 2.1 amp works great. Charges from 10% to almost full in a 30 minute drive. Prior to getting this one, i was having the issue of discharging while plugged in. No problems what so ever now. Have not had any problem using my charger in the house that came with the phone, or the one that came with my iPhone 3. As long as the cord is okay, I've had no problems.

Can anyone help? I realise that there is an issue with charging the 4s, but does any one have my problem or can any one help me with it plz.

My battery life is bad but sometimes if i put it on to charge overnight it wont charge to 100%. When this happens it gets 'stuck' at 97%, if i then unplug it, it drops to 94% within 2 mins. I have been plugging it back in to get to 100% and it seems to do it but then drops charge through the 90%'s really fast.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm on a long road trip (1500 miles) and my new iPhone 4S will not charge using my truck's power. This is so frustrating! When I plug it into my MacBook Air it charges just fine and I believe that the USB ports on that are NOT the newer 3.0 ports. What gives?

I bought 2 iPhone 4S's (one black, one white) the end of March. Had one, two weeks ago yesterday, decide to stop charging. Because of it being under warranty, Apple replaced the phone. Yesterday, my other one did the same thing. I can understand the frustration of people. The problem I am getting is that no matter what I plug it into, computer USB, charging dock, car charger, etc, it does not work. The computers show the USB device not recognized. I had a 3GS for almost a year, and had it fly out of my pocket doing 70 MPH on a highway on a motorcycle. The phone survived, the screen didnt. Too bad the new 4S isnt made as durable as that one. Almost ready to ask for a refund and get a newer Android phone in place...

I had the same problem with my 4S It was fine charging in house, from laptop but not in car Via 12v cigarette lighter. This was frustrating because the 4s would lose battery quickly when using sat nav app.

The answer, and IT HAS WORKED is you need to use a 2.1 AMP in car charger to accomodate the power the 4s uses with enough to add charge at the same time. The standard cheap ones give the affore mentioned errors, starts to charge stops, starts stops etc.... Mine was £8.95 and I am now a happy camper.

I had to switch off my Iphone 4s then charge it. Nothing else worked.

My iPhone 4s does not "beep" or show the "green" battery charging after I plug it in! After leaving it all night, I am usually around 60%. When plugged in it just looks black/nothing displayed.

I have rebooted, and it is the same whether it is on the computer USB or plugged into the elkec outlet for charging. I have the latest OS upgrade.

Any help appreciated!

I just got a replacement 4s today (for an overheating issue) I tried to charge it in the car but could not. I tried to charge it with the Apple charger just now because the battery is now dead but the phone (brand NEW) does not recognize the Apple charger and gives me the symbol telling me to plug into a power source. Phone is useless...

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have the same problem with charging. Suddenly my 4s unable to charge any more and i tried hard to fix this problem but nothing but if i turned it off apple charger is working. Then i tried to reboot my 4s to fix charging problem but now charging is not working at all even when i turned it off.

Plzzzzzz what can i do to fix it can any one help me with that.

First post here. I think there is a bigger issue here. I bought my wife's iphone and my iPhone around the same time. Within weeks, the same charger issues arose. It seems to get progressively worse as the days go by. Sometimes the phone is recognized by a charging device, others it isnt. Sometimes it shows the fully charged icon instead of charging(regardless of battery life).

I am conviced this is a hardware issue and it is not caused by user. To have it happen to two phones in a relatively short time period is just strange.

My wife and I also use different chargers. We are never powering our phones with the same cords whether it is in the home or in the car. I was thinking it may be a charger cord, but it isnt.

Very frustrated with Apple. As soon as I completed the latest 0S7 update all of the iphone devices in my household have charging problems. So I guess all of my iphone/ipad products are somewhat defective right ontime for my 2 year contract. Apple, youre not making it easy to sign up again. Get it right!
