IOS6 Wifi and battery

Hi there,

FIRST, I notice the problem with WiFi but I solved it going to:

Settings

General

Cellular

Turn all off

Then go to:

Settings

Wifi

Choose one network

Then back to settings

turn on Cellular Data

Turn on Enable 3G

Close settings and see if Wifi is now visible in the display. Wifi is now working as the same it was in 5.1.1.

SECOND, after IOS6 update I have pluged my iphone 4S in the USB cable of my computer and notice the sound of charging (it was 37%). Then, noticed that in the display with the battery, the icon of charging was showing pluged but not charging (no thunderbolt there). Then, I unlocked the iphone and no sounds or icons changes to charging even it connected directly to the power force. I have pluged and unpluged it, changed with a new conector and the iphone continues not charging.

Any other iphone 4S with this battery issue?

Thanks in advance,

Lab Zen

The exact same happened on my iPhone 4 today when I upgraded to iOS. I tried multiple different chargers, it made the sounds like it was charging, but it wasn't actually charging. Now it has completely run out of batteries.

If I do a hard reset, it turns on for a second to show lock screen and 1% battery, but then it dies again.

This is stupid and not a coincidence. It's iOS6.

Hi Swib,

My iPhone 4s (about one month and twenty days old) battery has just run out and the symptoms is exactly the same of what you have described.

I have left the iPhone at home and plugged during IOS update, and the battery was showing about 37%. Return back to my home after three hours and the display was showing anything regarding IOS 6 settings. I have followed the instructions and before unplug it I noticed that battery was at the same level three hours ago (37%).

I also have tried to charge the iPhone at home twice, using apple power cord and USB connector alone and both failed to recognize the device. Back to my office, I have tried to charge it again and other two connectors (car and office ones) failed.

Now I have a useless new cellular phone. Tomorrow I will contact Apple and hope they can solve the problem.

Sorry about my english. If you discover anything on how to fix it, please reply.

I am very disappointed with this problematic device and I do not figure out on how to take it out from its coma.

Thanks for your reply

updating information

After more than 3 hours in phone with a Apple service at morning....all testing & restore and etc routin stuff....showed only one thing: the battery never recharges and iphone shows only an empty battery with its red base flashing red for some seconds.......then she told me to get it back to the place I have purchased it (to fix it or "get it" replaced. Less than two months old?!?!?

I tried the same testing (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808?viewlocale=en_US) several times and nothing. The first picture of this document shows what I always see for some seconds when I try to connect the iphone to charge (all the same, car, power supply, USB, different connectors all genuine ones)...

Now, after contact with reseller, they told me they can not replace it immediatly...Apple needs to authorize and send the replacement (about 7-15 days without the iphone!).😐😟😠

I believe some how IOS 6 have changed hardware amp because the new conector in ipHone 5. Will IOS SIX be recognised in future by IOS 666? 😮

I went to the Apple store yesterday to have them check it out. Apparently, it was a co-incidence that the battery in my iPhone 4 crapped out 30 minutes after upgrading to iOS 6. They said they put in a new battery and it worked fine, which I find hard to believe. Then they wanted me to replace the battery for $80, since it was apparently 1 month past my Apple Care plan.

Since the new iPhone 5 came out this morning, I just decided to do that instead. It did not make sense to replace the battery.

Hi swib,

Your case is different of mine since my Iphone has only about 45 days old. I believe you have take the right decision because iPhone 5 price in USA is affordable. Here in my country the price of one 4S unlocked is about one thousand dollars (believe it is true) and mobile service is still in the prehistoric time.

Good luck with your new iPhone
