null at terminal
I use bash heavily daily and recently instead of getting my computer name at the bash prompt, I get a (null).Any ideas anyone?

I also have a sky router but I do not see the options to add/edit/delete my attached devices. All I get is 'Refresh'!
Could you provide the steps to reach that page?
I still might try and reset my router to factory settings to see if that helps.

I got another null the other day but it's gone again. :dunno:
For me the above solutions didn't work, it seemed my computer name was too long when registering with the Sky router.
To fix it I changed my Mac computer name:
1. Quit terminal
2. Turn wifi off
2. System Preferences -> Sharing -> edited computer name to a shorter number of chars
3. Turn wifi on
4. Open terminal and fingers crossed you should see your computer name
