NO Photos transfered to iPAD after IOS upgrade

After the upgrade to iOS5 he photos in iPhoto is no loger transfered when I do a normal sync with iTunes.

The facts are as follows:

My iPhoto library contain about 30000 photos organised in a number of Albums and Events.

As I use my iPAD to show the photos I want them all there.

After a restore of the iPad software and a complete sync I can see in the Photo-app all the events and albums with name but with no content at all.

The only photes are those in Photo stream.

I have checked and all SW is up to date (OSX 10.7.2, iPhoto 9.2, ITunes 10.5).

I have also followed the Support discussions on similar problems and as recommended deleted the iPOD cash in the iPhoto library.

I am also using iCloud and Photo stteam is on.

The capacity of the iPad memory is also OK.

Note that all this worked perfect before the iOS5/iCloud upgrade.

What am I doing wrong??

Hello

Just a quick update

I went to the Apple Store near my home, they acknowledged the issue, but told me they don't have a clue on how to solve it!

Great now I'm really stuck that does not deliver a fundamental feature.

What can I do to get APPLE TO REACT?

Can I open a ticket with support without having to pay?

Thanks

possible fix. some progress. Problem seems to be to do with the number of photos to sync or total size. I have deselected all photo folders for sync and then selecting a few folders and applying that to sync. success - photos starting to appear on the ipad in the albums. Then selected a few more folders but failed to transfer any photos this time. I noticed one of the folders had 2000+ photos so I deselected that and synced with the other selected photos (about 1000 photos in total in 10 or so folders). success - transferred the phots to the ipad. So will try to rebuild the whole set on the iPad adding a few photo folders at a time.

Partial Success. Adding a few folders at a time for each sync. Have managed to get the photos on the iPad to reach a total of 6 Gb / 9000 photos in 120 folders syncing a total of under 1000 photos each time. Now stuck failing to add a folder of 1300 photos to sync. Same symptom when it fails: empty folder on the iPad. Sync on XP Pro machine with 2Gb ram and 10Gb free on the hard disk space. Not obvious what the issue is. Is it RAM? Don;t want to change my source folders to contain less photos just because iTunes can;t sync to iPad.

I too am having the same problem with iPhoto syncing with iPad one after updating to the latest releases. My symptoms are a bit different...it tries to copy all my events and even states the correct number of photos on iTunes as it's syncing but it only transfers about 10% of the photos in each event. I completely reset all the settings on my ipad too with no positive results and am now really upset that i did that now that i know this is a known problem. My service agreement is out of date by just one month. I'll keep checking to see if and when Apple fixes their problem!!! My iPad is used mainly for photos so i'm not at all happy and will be telling everyone i can about Apple's poor service.

Failed again - almost all photo folder contents blanked out showing "No Photos" - happened after successfully reaching about 15000 photos totalling 10.7Gb in size in 100+ folders and then when re-sync with some more photos / photo albums disaster. Back to square one. There must be some system limits on the iPad / iTunes that is breaking the sync process. Now starting to rebuild the sync'ed the folders on the iPad. Deselecting all folders and doing to sync and then adding 1000-2000 photos at a time in each sync. May be will have to stop at 12000 or so photos

Anyone with iPad still in warranty submitted a support ticket to Apple to get an official response?

Me too!

I was running ios 4 when I bought the iPad 2. Decided to upgrade the iphone to 5, after careful consideration. btw the iphone 3gs works great under 5, none of the whinning issues others reported.

Now my iphoto won't sync as it is being told to do. I have checked the box saying to sync iPhoto. Wierd but it seems I am only syncing the photos taken with my iphone. about a 122 of them.

My iPad is under warrenty will see about this issue

this seems to be working

For those of you still having an issue.. try the following... http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1165365

open finder
go to your pictures folder
right click on the iPhoto Library and choose "Show Package Contents"
Find the folder called "iPod Photo Cache" and delete it. This will force iTunes to rebuild the cache and reset to the iPad/iPhone. Worked a treat for me.
