why does my music not play on my ipad(2)?

I have the same problem with my iPad 2 and I think it happened after I updated to iOS 5. All the other sounds works just fine, like in the videos. But the music wont play even though I have a big library. The play icon shows up in the status bar but the slider wont move.

I also noticed that when plugged in and syncing, there's no indication on the iPad 2 that it's syncing. Maybe these problems are related?

Did you sync wirelessly? I had the same problem after upgrading to ios5 all of my 600+songs showed up in the ipod app but only 28 were playable. Try resyncing your ipad using the usb cord, that worked for me or you might try rebooting it.
