YouTube "unknown error"

I got an iPad2 in the US just before moving to Taiwan. I never tried using the YouTube app before I got here, but I have been unable to watch any videos, in any format over the YouTube app or YouTube on the web, or even Vimeo. I am using a wireless router hooked into an Ethernet port, and my internet speed should be sufficient to stream videos. My laptop, an archaic Toshiba Satellite, doesn't have any problems viewing videos on the YouTube website, though I did notice a little lag in some longer videos. I have tried resetting the network DSL to google numbers, restoring factory settings to the network connections, and even downloaded the tagdiskHD app, but none of this seems to work. Can anyone out there address my issue? Thanks!

I have same problem. YouTube app "unknown error." Will not load or play any videos. Tried closing all apps, rebooting, resetting, and playing vids in safari, nothing works. *****!

Same here with IPAD3 since a few days.

Changing the IP commited by the Router had not helped.

Why Apple does not inform us?

Waiting for a promt solution.

Came here to get the answer too (Ipad3). 3 weeks of trying different "fixes" ( restore, date change, closing app, closing all apps and shutting down. allowing pad to fully run out of battery....etc,etc...) Come on! Then I noticed that my Ipod4 is doing the same thing.. I have tried going to different locations (miles away not feet) and found that, that doesn't help either... come on APPLE, a little help please!

This problem clearly affects a large number of users and it has been around for a long while with no response from Apple. I have tried every "solution" posted over the last 2 years to no avail. APPLE, WHERE ARE YOU????

I am having the same problem my safari is not opening the youtube videos and it's written "an error occurred please try again later"

I had installed latest version of flash and still problem and same error...

Pleae help!

Try this: Instead of viewing YouTube in Safari, go to the Apple App Store and download the YouTube app. It works really well for me.

Also, make sure you have the latest update. I was having problems accessing my email so I checked, and there is a recent update available, although it did not notify me. I manually started the update and problem fixed.
