How do I unlock multiple files in multiple folders

You can also do it through Finder, one folderful at a time.

To do that, open one such folder. Press Command-A (Select All in Edit menu). Press Option-Command-I which will open a multiple-item Get Info window, one window common to all the selected files. Then click the "Locked" checkbox until it is empty. That should unlock all the selected items.

You shoud be able to use this command to unlock all your Documents...

Launch /Applications/Utilities/Terminal and copy & paste this command at the prompt

chflags -R nouchg ~/Documents

Press return.

What was the exact command you issued?

Did you get errors? If so, what was the error?

For one of the files that seems to be locked, what does

/bin/ls -dleO@ /Volumes/path/to/the/file

A great simple method to unlocking selected file without and hassle is a little app called batchmod

simple small effective easy interface and what best it get the job done with out all the clicks
