iTunes an error occurred while restoring this iPod (-1).

I updated to iOS5 on my iPod, but the restore process failed with:

iTunes

an error occurred while restoring this iPod (-1).

iTunes could not restor the IPod "Brenda's iPod" because an error occurred.

I can't find any examples of this error on google searches. I can setup the ipod touch as a new device, but I loose all the game data(and my wife literally has 100 games she plays).

I've tried disabling firewall/anti-virus. Restarted computer and ipod. Any ideas?

iPod touch, iOS 5, windows

this error is always security software... instead of disabling those firewall and anti-virus you need to try uninstalling them...

If it isn't a program or software on the computer contact your Internet Service Provider and/or Router Company for help to configure or disable the firewall in the router settings.

To isolate the issue to this you can also try disconnecting the router and plugging your computer directly in to the modem.
