Images missing in PhotoStream

In the last few days I've found that a couple of photos were missed in uploads to PhotoStream even though it's automatic when they're taken on an iPhone.

I went to the photos in camera roll and tried to add them from there but it wouldn't work. So, then, I emailed them to myself, saved them and they showed up in my camera roll again with newly sequenced numbers!! At least they were in PhotoStream! Please does anyone know why? It doesn't seem to leave me with any security in backup of photos via this method.

My iPhone sees 1000 photos and that number is just stuck at 1000.

My Ipad see I don't know how much but a bunch of photos seen on iPhone are not on iPad photo stream and vice versa.

My Macbook Air iPhoto only sees 153 photos...

My Desktop iPhoto only sees 137

Something is definitely wrong.

But it looks like it is only happening with old images only.

This definitely has to fixed, it shouldn't even be very difficult to fix.

For me photo stream is reliably unreliable, i.e. I know that from every set a few photos will be missing. I need to compare photos from the stream and from the camera roll one by one, so that I can know which photos I can safely delete from phone, and which ones I have upload with some other means.

Hello,

I have experienced a similar issue.

Normally all photos from iPhone or iPad correctly push to photostream and it works.

But on a recent travel the photostream pushing seemed "spotty" and some random pictures taken with iPhone were/are not pushed to photostream. On the destination there was a (slow) wifi connection, might have something to do with it - but even after getting home to my faster wifi connection the remaining photos in my camera roll are still not pushed to photostream from the iPhone.

The missing photos not being pushed from the iPhone to photostream are random in timeline ("spotty" pushing).

Any ideas on why this happens?

I guess after connecting the iPhone to my Mac the entire camera roll will load into iPhoto, and iPhoto on Mac will do the remaining "pushing" to photostream; will have to wait and see.

But this issue purely is about incomplete pushing from iPhone camera roll to photostream.

I'm still on iOS 5, and photostream has been good for several months ,but just a week ago - I had some images get "hung up" on my camera roll. Their were about 20 of them, and they just wouldn't budge into the photstream on the iPhone (I've found, that the instant a picture lands into the photostream on the iPhone, it almost always syncs up to the server, and then back down to my laptop).

I tried everything - went into photos/photstream, rebooted the Iphone - nothing.

Eventually, several days later - the images moved over.

In general, it's been a reasonably good performer for me though.

Same bad experience here, I updated to iOS 6 and just recently started using photostream. When I first installed iCloud on my PC, there were 1000 photos in my photo stream, so when I took 5 new photos and only saw one of them showed up in photostream, I thought it must be that I had hit the limit so I deleted about 200 of them from photo stream. Afterwards I took a few more photos, saw them in camera roll and photostream from my iPhone, a couple more got pushed to my PC, but the rest of new photos never showed up on my PC! It's been 24 hours I don't think they will get pushed ever 😠. I wish there is a "synch camera roll to photostream" button,

Same issues here with 4s. I've think I've noticed that it especially won't push photos to the photostream when several pictures are taken at once. If I snap 5 or 6 photos all at once, there's not a chance it will get uploaded to the cloud. If I take just one photo, it will *probably* get uploaded, but who knows when. It's very sporadic.

I haven't noticed any problem after upgrating to 6.01. However I have recently switched to Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and has been very happy with synching to Dropbox. It's a big step up for me switching from iPhone to andriod, so many better andriod apps on Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I never knew what I've missed when I was with iPhone for the past three years!

Photostream is convinient but not reliable.

Apple insists in do things under the hood. Why not a little sign on the thumb of each photo of the camera roll that was successfully uploaded to the photo stream?

Why not put a text box on MacOS saying what the computer is doing at any moment?

Why not put a Hard Disk Light in apple computers?

I lose a lot of images in the past 6 months just because I trusted in Photostream.

I had same problem. I'm on iOS 6 on an iPhone 5. PhotoStream is missing exactly one pic. The pic is in my Camera Roll. I even added the pic to a Shared PhotoStream. But the pic is missing from "My PhotoStream." And it won't let me add the missing pic to "My PhotoStream." This happened while I was in a place with a very spotty WiFi connection. After reading this thread, it doesn't look like it will resolve automatically. So I guess I will copy over manually. Very weird.
