Windows 7 64bit Photostream Problem

Hi,

I have installed the windows iCloud Control Panel, all installed OK.

When I open the control panel it says

applephotostream.exe has stopped working

It will then not allow men to set up the photo stream.

I guess it is either an X64 problem or conflicting with something, I've installed it about 4 times no....

Can anybody help????

icloud-OTHER, Windows 7

Same problem. I fixed it by making sure the AppleIDs matched on my device and in the Windows iCloud Control Panel. That fixed the applephotostreams.exe crash and photo downloads started working immediately after I restarted.

I posted how-to steps here for the less technical: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3402898?answerId=16608195022#16608195022

Open up task manager and check to see if a process called "applephotostreams.exe" is running. If it is not running go to the folder where the executable is and manually start it. It should be located at

C:\Program files(x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\ApplePhotoStreams.exe then check in task manager again to make sure it is running then you should be able to start up icloud with no error message

I am on Windows 7 64bit and i fixed the problem by uninstalling iCloud followed by a rebooted.

I then used Apple's updater tool to re-install iCloud followed by another rebooted.

I then went to iCloud in Control Panel and signed in with my Apple ID and rebooted.

After rebooting a third time I did not receive any errors or Windows telling me that ApplePhotoStream.exe has stopped working. I hope this helps.

Apple release iTunes 10.6.1 yesterday so you could upgrade and see if that fixes it or you could go the drastic route of uninstalling everything Apple and starting again.

1. Sign out of iCloud in Control Panel

2. Navigate to Programs and Features in Control Panel and uninstall all programs that are published by Apple.

3. Delete all Apple folders that were not removed at the time of uninstallation.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Apple

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Apple Computer

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer

(REMEMBER to keep 'Bookmarks.plist') You will want to copy it back after re-installing Safari

4. Reboot

5. Install iTunes, then reboot

6. Install Safari,

copy Bookmarks.plist in to C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Safari, then reboot

7. Install iCloud don't sign in, then reboot

8. Sign in to iCloud then reboot

I cannot promise this will fix your problem but it is something to think about.
