awdd process

Anyone advise what the awdd process is in iOS 5?

I noticed on my iPhone 4s that there are literally hundreds of reports a few times each minute in the Diagnostic and Usage logs to be sent to Apple. Could this be why my iPhone 4s battery is less than the 4?? I don;t remember seeing them on my iPhone 4 before.

the awdd message occurs when you have the setting "Automatic Send" set under Settings --> General --> About--> Diagnostic and Usage.

These messages will only occur when you are connected or in a wifi zone and wifi is switched on.

Change the setting to no and these messages will stop and I have noticed a little better performance in battery.

This might be off topic but I have noticed following observation. While on 3G, I was listening to Pandora app on iPhone, then started to browse on Safari. As a page was loading, my music stopped momentarily, a couple of times. I checked diagnostic data and noticed two low memory reports. In the report, I am wondering what Free, Wireable and Purgeable pages means.

I've bought my iPhone 4S like 2 months ago. Occasionally when trying to start music playback it starts and stops immediately. Several times. Finally after several attempts it starts playback but for up to 10 secs music sounds badly - like decoding issues. Finally I've found time to check "Diagnostics & Usage" for any related entries, and found awdd entries exactly at that time, when I had playback issues. Furthermore I had "Diagnostics & Usage" set to "Don't Send" since I bought my device. Anyone noticed something similar?
