Complain to Apple! Don't take this sitting down. Use the feed back mechanism and report it as a bug. Upgrading your iOS should not downgrade your device;
I would need to liquidate a couple of my 10,000+ Apple shares to have the cash on hand to write that many checks. To get your US$3 please send me a self addressed envelope with internaltional return postage attached.
Just wanted add my experience of this totally pathetic move by apple. Taking features away from the iPad that used to be there.. Innovate with the new models, don't take features away from the previous ones to make the new ones look better!
Hello,
I talked to Apple support this great problem, no one could give me an answerbecause they did not know of the existence of this function with "camera kit".After a report via email with a screenshot from the internet they said: "It's normalthat you change something in an update" and the link:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4559
Stupid answer! Stupid and without respect for careful MacUser! The instruction manual iPad1 function is present with the "camera kit" and must remain so.
Do not they realize unuseable an expensive accessory Apple?
I checked if ios 5.1 rotation function has returned to work, but it is not so!
Boys fill the mail service, spread the problem on all forums, we use all the channels you know! Apple should make our voice heard. And if we are not heardwe all go to apple store to return the "camera kit" requesting a refund of our money!

Don't forget the pitchforks and torches, also the hangman's rope and the molotov cocktails!
I think it is a cheap stunt on apple's part, are they're turning into just another greedy corporation?
Before I found this entry in this forum, I called support, they didn't even have an ipad1 to test on. So, they sent me to the apple store. 25 miles later at my genius bar appointment they said they were going to re-initialize my ipad, however I hadn't re-synched it with my computer for a while, so I got insistant that they have a look at another ipad1 and sure enough it didn't have the rotate function either.
I think it is going to cost apple more in support and goodwill than it ever made them by pulling off this cheap trick!
Wish I had known of this issue before I updated my iPad 1 to iOS 5. I use my iPad to scan in documents ( into the photo app), rotate them to the proper orientation, then using a PDF creator ( bought from the App Store) turn them into PDFs which I then send wirelessly to my office.
This worked flawlessly, as the PDF creator imported the scans directly from the "last imported" list in the photo app. Made finding the scans easy and quick-always knew which scans to convert into PDFs.
Now with the loss of the rotation tool, I had to go to a third party editing app to rotate them, which then saves them back to the Camera Roll. I have to scroll through all of my photos to find them, and to make life easier I now delete them after I convert them.
Speaking with an Apple support tech, he kept telling me where to find the rotation tool, and I had to keep telling him that it doesn't exist anymore. He appeared to not know this, even after I directed him to this support topic.
At least I could find a work-around; otherwise I would have had a $600 paperweight. Very disappointing .
Hello everbody..
how can i make a complaint to Apple about the impossibility of rotation of photos?
