Complain to Apple! Don't take this sitting down. Use the feed back mechanism and report it as a bug. Upgrading your iOS should not downgrade your device;

Except that it is not a bug, photo rotation works fine in iOS 5. So it is likely your kit.

Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo. It is safe to do, there should be no content loss. It is the same as rebooting your computer. If that was not successful, then restore the iPad to its factory settings.

I reported it as a enhancement and a bug. I don't know how I managed the bug report when you said it was for developers. To describe my issue better is that my iPad 1 (not 2) since the update no longer has the rotate option on photos. I don't even see where the "button" is for it. Use to be under all imported. Nothing there since the update. It has be mentioned to check my camera connection kit.

I just completed a web search regarding the new version of the iOS Photo app and it is true that the new version does not include the new editing features on the original iPad. (Sorry, something of which I was not aware.) These features are only available to the iPad 2. So because the Rotate button has been moved into the editing feature there is no more ability to rotate photos on the original iPad.

Looking in the iTunes App Store I see a number of photo editing apps that work on the original iPad. After a quick perusal of the available apps for iPad, the one that looks most complete and beats the Photo app's editing features hands down is PhotoWizard-HD Photo Editing. US$3. I watched the videos linked in the app's description and it has a lot of abitities, including rotating photos.

What the heck?! If what you're saying is true, then taking away EXISTING features so that people have to buy new hardware is NOT a good business practice. Stop this immediately and restore that functionality!

That's like buying a new car and taking it in for service a year later and they remove one of the wheels. When you complain that you now only have three wheels, they say, "Sorry, but if you buy one of these brand new cars here, it will have four wheels and you will be happy again."

Your functionallity is on an IPAD 2. This forum is refering to an IPAD 1!

I spoke to Apple technical support and they concur.

The feature was available on IOS 4.3 and was removed in IOS 5.

They directed me to 3rd Party Software. I told them this is not an anwser since I have 100's of picture which must be loaded in the the 3rd Party Software Rotated individually and saved back into the Save Folder.

They said if they have enough compliants it will be fixed in the next rev.
