I need to transfer my final cut pro X media (event/album?) and timeline from a project on my imac onto an external drive so that I can work on it on my laptop while traveling. How do I make sure that all my clips, the timeline, music from my itunes folder, etc. all get onto the external drive. Is there an easy way to do this?

Does it make more sense to copy your media on import then? Even if it does take up double the space?
WWhy would it double your space? If you assign a folder on the external drive as the media storage location in library properties that's where the media goes.
Just realised I'm probably working differently than a lot of people. I'm dealing with .m2t files which won't directly import to FCPX from the device. I wrap my clips then they are saved to my HD where I then import from.
