iMessage: Messages disappear

It happens so rarely for me, I'm guessing it occurs 1 out of 10,000 messages. Is it more frequent for you? How much testing did you do?

Same happening here. More like every day which is a right pain in the backside

i never had a backup and this happened to me. I found this through google search - and i don't know if Apple has a solution to this bug!

no need to buy ridiculous 3rd part software. the message come back if you quit the messages app and reopen it (double click home buttone to go into multitasking tray, hold the messages icon, touch the red dot with the minues sign in the upper right hand corner).

the issue is that they disappear to begin with. getting them back is quite simple.

my previous post said this resolved the issue for me.... it has NOT resolved the issue.

I have this problem now. iMessages from my daughter have the picture portion disappear after viewing once. Some where group sends, others were just sent to me. They have disappeared from my message thead on my iPhone 4S (not jail broken). I also received iMessages on my iPad 3--the pictures assocaited with those messages DO still show up on my iPad message threads. What's up with that?

Yes. I have this same problem too. Mostly after I send a voice text and they reply with a text message. The reply text message disappears. I can view it in the preview screen, but not in the actually iMessage. And thank you for everyone posting their solution of closing out iMessage and reopening it, and their messages have reappeared. I tried that and it worked!!! Thank you sooooo much!!!! It was really starting to annoy me. Soo hopefully this solution keeps working.
