I have imported the video directly from my iphone 4

exported to 720p and i get the -49 error.
firt time exported to movies folder
second time to desktop
same result, error -49
i've also checked file permissions to write&read for everyone
Hope it get solved soon, any one with this config?
It seems like there's a number of these being posted all around the iMovie Discussion Group. So the solution posted most recently that seems to work for the largest number of people is this:
This requires using the Terminal app, in your Applications/Utilities folder
To turn off Time Machine snapshots type in the following command:
sudo tmutil disablelocal
The Mac will likely ask for your password, so type it in and hit the return key. The type the word, exit and hit return. Quit Terminal.
This worked for me. I was able to publish my video without any issues in HD.
Thanks,
I have the same problem since I installed Lion :-(
hi
found terminal ok and copied in your code but terminal won't let me type in a password despite it asking for one, what am i doing wrong?
Cheers
I have found that if you turn off Time Machine everything works! It certainly workd for me. I have now been able to export and share all videos in HD.
It should be the same password you have set when you first login to the Mac when it starts up. Unless you have a blank password set, then I think you would just have to hit Enter when the password prompt comes up.
When you type a password on console, it keeps blank, no characters shown while you type
It's a common thing on unix based system,.
So type your password once, press enter
And type again.
The solution involving disabling time machine or disabling the snap shot feature when you
Don't have an external hd atatched seems to work.
Hope it helps

Hello Karsten
you seem like you know what's up.
can you please help me with a problem... i am exporting a video made in Imovie and I have never had an issue ... that is until tonight
The error message reads as follows:
The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (-50)
Could you please give me some advice? Or anyone ?
i would appreciate any help
thanks
Sue
I have had this issue too. I just found this post on another site. Will try it after my iDVD is done rendering...
Just switch off TimeMachine-Backups for the time of finishing the project, that's all!
Guys, I just want to echo what has worked for me after receiving the error code -49 message: If you have Time Machine running (I'm exporting the Movie to an external drive) TURN IT OFF!!
I did this and voila! My movie rendered in HD, without the need for the Terminal workaround that has been posted. Good luck all. 😎
Switching Time Machine OFF also worked for me !
But what is the connection between those two ? File permissions ?
Anyway, thanks.
Even with the latest iMovie 9.0.8-Update or didn't you update?
Always using the newest stuff... Last update: yesterday !
